    or check only on the day of your exam In order for IVC students to take an exam at the Testing Center students must Contact the professor of the class and obtain permission to make up the exam Verify the exam has been sent Once the exam is received by the Testing Center call 949 451 5468 to make an appointment It is important to set up a specific date and time to take the exam so we can ensure we have availability and can allow the full amount of testing time Our hours of operation are Monday Wednesday 9 00am 5 00pm Thursday Friday 9 00am 8 00pm Saturday 9 00am 5 00pm Sunday CLOSED Please note that we cannot schedule an appointment without having the exam on hand first Instructors must send over the exam cover sheet and any other necessary exam information before an appointment can be scheduled Bring a valid non expired photo ID the 15 proctoring fee in cash or check and any necessary exam materials scantron pencils etc to the Testing Center on the date of your exam If you do not have an ID you will not be able to take your test IVC instructors can contact the Testing Center in one of the following ways Email ivctesting ivc edu Phone 949 451 5468 Fax 949 451 5638 In person at the Testing Center during our hours of operation Please submit the cover sheet below along with the exam itself and any other testing information that will be needed in order to properly administer the exam The IVC cover sheet is very important as we administer exams from other schools and universities and this cover sheet lets us know the exam is for an IVC student Without this information we will not be

  • GED Testing | IVC
    is done entirely on the computer Testers now have the luxury of choosing whether to take the exam in its entirety in one day or spread it out over several days Important Information regarding GED Testing You MUST be a California resident in order to take the GED in California If you do not have a CA driver s license or CA State ID when you arrive for your test you will be required to show proof of California residency in one of the following ways DMV registration Voter registration Lease Agreement State and Federal Tax returns Utility Bill Bank Statement Marriage License Other Government Issued Documentation City County and State The document s must be under the tester s name as it is registered with GED AND it must have their California address If you are a minor it is NOT acceptable to have any of these documents be in your parent guardian s name The documents MUST be in the tester s name or you will not be admitted to your test To register for the GED create a profile at www ged com and complete the registration process though the website You can choose your appointment day and time based upon our testing center s availability within our hours of operation The GED has 4 modules and can be taken all in one day or spread out over the course of separate days The fee is 35 per module for a total of 140 for the complete GED exam You will be taking your exam individually on an assigned computer here at our testing center Once you are completed with your exam you will receive a handout with further instructions for accessing your scores and certificate The IVC Testing Center does not have access to official scores

    identification documents specific to your exam You will be asked to place ALL personal belongings in a locker Only the Test Administrators have a key to your locker and you will not be able to access ANY personal belongings during your exam Only permitted exam materials are allowed in the testing room with you Personal items include but are not limited to Hats Purse or wallet Car Keys Cell phones Watches Food drink Candy gum Loose change money The size of the lockers only allow for smaller personal items Please leave larger items such as backpacks laptops etc at home or in your car The Irvine Valley College Testing Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items Please leave valuables at home You will be asked to pull out your pockets to show that nothing is in them Jackets sweaters are allowed in the testing room but you must show that there is nothing in the pockets Testing Center Policies You must schedule your exam in accordance with our hours of operation We schedule exams according to the amount of time permitted for your exam not based upon the amount of time you may think it will take you to complete it Our first priority is to our pre registered candidates Walk ins and call ins are permitted only at the discretion of our Testing Center Under no circumstances can we guarantee availability if you have not pre registered for your exam Special accommodations must be approved and submitted in writing by your testing vendor or school prior to your exam For payment of paper and distance education exams we accept cash or check only Please bring exact change You will be required to show proper identification Expired ID s do not count as an acceptable form of identification

    1 you may enroll in WR 181 If you are enrolling in WR 2 you may enroll in WR 182 If you are enrolling in a full semester section of WR 1 enroll in a full semester section of the Writing Conference If you are enrolling in a first 8 week section of WR 1 enroll in the first 8 week section of WR 181 If you are enrolling in a second 8 week section of WR 1 enroll in a second 8 week section of WR 181 Earning Credit in the Writing Conference You must spend 24 hours in the Writing Center during the term in which you are enrolled whether your term is 16 weeks or 8 weeks long Begin spending time in the Center at the start of the semester by conferring frequently with the English instructors on duty You can talk to the instructors about your assignments your readings and any aspect of your writing process Etiquette Protocol Computers are to be used for academic purposes only This includes personal laptops You may bring your laptop to the Center but be prepared to use your own power source as there are few outlets in the Center for private use No food or beverages are permitted in the Center Cell phone use is restricted in the Center by the rules of common courtesy This includes texting and other activities not related to class assignments When you enter the Center please sign in using the computer at the front counter When you leave the Center please sign out using the computer at the front counter Failure to log out or misuse of recording system will result in a loss of hours for the day The faculty and staff do not tolerate excessive noise misuse of equipment falsification of

    Writing 280 If you are enrolling in the second 8 week section of Writing 301 or 201 enroll in the second 8 week section of Writing 280 Earning Credit in Writing 380 and 280 You must spend 24 hours in the Writing Center during the term in which you are enrolled whether your term is 16 weeks or 8 weeks long Begin spending time in the Center at the start of the semester by conferring frequently with the English instructors on duty You can talk to the instructors about your assignments your readings and any aspect of your writing process Spend time in the Center throughout the semester so that you make use of the resources to study and concentrate on improving your writing skills You may meet with English instructors as often as you want but in order to earn credit you must hold four formal conferences with English instructors in the Center A formal conference meets these criteria The conference is held in the Writing Center with an instructor on duty in the Writing Conference During the conference the student presents the classroom instructor s written assignment sheet as well as the student s written work in progress toward the assignment During the conference the student presents the classroom instructor s signature form so that the Writing Conference instructor can sign and date as evidence of the conference The signatures represent only one conference per assignment It is your responsibility to check up on your record of hours and formal conferences These records are kept at the Writing Center counter and the staff there will be happy to show you your records Etiquette Protocol Computers are to be used for academic purposes only This includes personal laptops You may bring your laptop to the Center but be prepared
