    through the CLEP Examinations are as follows 1 duplicate credit in the same subject in not awarded in any case 2 the total number of credits that may be awarded is limited to 30 credits Additional Admission Requirements Once an applicant has been granted an admission decision of provisional admission into the program full acceptance is pending receipt of all required documents and the determination that the following requirements are met Official transcripts showing completed prerequisite requirements Completed health record requirements Completed acceptable background check I ntern ational Students Documentation All applicants must have established legal residency within the United States Lakeview College of Nursing does not issue I 20s for student visas and therefore requires each student to be either a U S Citizen or Permanent U S Resident Documentation will be required at the time of application A naturalization certificate or a green card may be used as documentation for those born outside the United States TOFEL Requirements Students were born outside the United States must also have official TOEFL scores sent directly from Educational Testing Services ETS with a TOEFL Score of 80 Internet Based Test IBT In addition the College carefully evaluates the four sub scores listening structure writing speaking and reading on the TOEFL test The College may require remediation if one or more sub score is are substantially low even though the total score is acceptable Applicants who feel strongly that their education meets our standards for exclusively English based education ideally a bachelor s degree earned within the U S may contact a recruiter well in advance of the application deadline if he she would like to discuss their individual circumstances in consideration of exemption of the TOEFL requirement An electronic sample of a research paper that has been completed for a college

    Current within the last 10 years Hepatitis B Series Influenza Vaccine 1 Varicella Titer Required even if you have been vaccinated or had the disease in the past 1 MMR Titer A titer for Measles Mumps and Rubella are required even if you have been vaccinated in the past Two Step Tuberculosis TB or TB Quantiferon 10 Panel Urine Drug Screen Current CPR Card Only 2 courses accepted are The American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider OR The American Red Cross CPR AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers Hepatitis A and Meningococcal vaccines are highly recommended due to the high at risk population and occupation CDC 2011 but is not required Additional information regarding health requirements is provided within admission packet Non Discrimination Lakeview College of Nursing does not discriminate in the admission of students on the basis of race color national origin age sex sexual orientation religion veteran status marital status ancestry or disability Additionally the College prohibits students discriminating against patients based upon race color national origin age sex sexual orientation religion veteran status marital status ancestry or disability Orientation Student Orientation is mandatory for all new incoming students Orientation will occur the week prior to the start of a semester Failure to attend will prevent a student from starting any clinical course Other Considerations for All Applicants Registered nurses must be licensed by the state s in which they plan to work Persons making application for licensure are screened for criminal records and or convicted felonies If you have a criminal record you should consider seeking individual legal counsel as to the possibility of being ineligible for licensure and or clinical experiences prior to applying for admission to the program Background check information may be shared with the College s clinical sites Admission to the BSN Program involves a significant time commitment Students should expect to spend 20 30 hours per week on course related work on campus and in clinical placements Students are required to be at clinical sites at 6 30 am for some clinical sites and on occasion may also be assigned afternoon evening and Saturday clinicals Transportation to clinical sites is the responsibility of the student Registered nurses are exposed to a variety of substances within the work environment and other work sites such as occasional fluctuations in temperature latex products and electro magnetic radiation Exposure to electrical hazards loud or unpleasant noises and occasional high humidity or wetness are the norm It is highly advisable that all prospective students participate in an RN clinical job shadowing experience prior to applying In consideration of the above items and the Non Discrimination and Core Performance Standards Lakeview College of Nursing may review individual cases and provide feedback as to medical and or legal suitability The College recommends that applicants seek professional legal advice regarding the previously mentioned items Readmission Policy A student who has academically been dismissed or who has withdrawn from the nursing program may apply for readmission The readmission policies

    works addressing your view of nursing and professional goals and why you wish to purse a BSN degree If currently enrolled submit a current course schedule along with a plan for completing any remaining prerequisite coursework official transcript evaluation will reflect future plans of completing required perquisites Two 2 reference forms from a recent employer or an educator References from relatives or personal friends will not be accepted Reference letters forms become the property of LCN 100 non refundable fee payable to Lakeview College of Nursing Official transcripts from each individual college institution attended Paper and electronic transcripts are accepted International transcripts and credentials must be translated into English with letter grades through a foreign evaluation service LPNs and RNs applying for admission must also submit a copy of their current Illinois nursing license Official birth certificate with embossed seal Photocopies of your official birth certificate are not accepted TOEFL scores if born outside the United States see international student policies All applicants will receive an e mail confirmation after their application has been received and processed containing additional information on how to complete the Kaplan Admission Test and a transcript evaluation if transcripts have been received This will be sent to the e mail address provided on the application for admission All documents submitted to Lakeview College of Nursing for admission or transfer purposes become the property of the College Transcripts from other institutions will not be released to a student nor will they be forwarded to other educational institutions or agencies unless specified by state or federal regulation A student needing copies of documents from other institutions must contact those institutions directly Application Processes for Students Trasferring from Another Nursing Program Applicants that have attended another nursing program need to provide the additional information at the time of application One 1 of the two 2 required references must be from the Dean Director Chair or faculty member of the program from which was attended Only nursing courses with a grade of B or better will be considered for transfer Applicants must provide course syllabi for any nursing class they are seeking to transfer If the transfer applicant has attended a nursing program that offers Assessment Technologies Institute ATI Kaplan or Health Education Systems Inc HESI testing he she should submit copies of their testing results Application Process for Non Degree Seeking Students Students wishing to take Chemistry Statistics or Medical Terminology as a non degree student can fill out the non degree application indicating exactly which class s they are wanting to take as listed on the application Once the non degree application has been processed and the student has been registered an e mail will be sent to the e mail address provided on the application Students enrolled as non degree seeking will not be eligible for financial aid Previous Pause Next White Coat Level Pin Ceremony Level II III IV required attendance Feb 19 Fall Summer Registration Feb 22 to Mar 4 Mid term Mar 2

    universities within the state of Illinois may check www itransfer org or go directly to http www itransfer org iai and click on IAI GECC for transfer equivalencies of general education requirements Students should also verify information with the individual college or university for which they are planning to pursue coursework Courses taken outside of Illinois or courses that are not identified as IAI should be verified for transfer by contacting a Lakeview College of Nursing admissions representative College Level Examination Program In order to honor and recognize student s prior learning Lakeview College of Nursing cooperates with the College Board in the program referred to as CLEP Lakeview College of Nursing accepts CLEP Examination Credit for equivalent general education and prerequisite coursework Credit may be awarded for CLEP Examinations depending upon the score earned on the examination and other factors as indicated below A student who has earned a score of 50 or higher for performance on the CLEP Examination taken before or after admission to degree candidacy may receive credit as determined by the Director of Enrollment Registrar Please visit The College Board for more information regarding CLEP Test Centers and available CLEP Examinations Limitations of credits earned through the CLEP Examinations are as follows 1 duplicate credit in the same subject in not awarded in any case 2 the total number of credits that may be awarded is limited to 30 credits Credit awarded in this manner does not affect a student s grade point average A grade of CR will be recorded on the student s transcript Once the preliminary coursework outlined above is complete either through another college or university or appropriate score on CLEP exam and students gain admission into the Lakeview College of Nursing program they can begin coursework at LCN through one of the following tracks Science Course Time Limit Prerequisite science courses needed for the nursing program Anatomy and Physiology I II Chemistry I II and Microbiology MUST be taken no more than 5 years prior to the start of the nursing program Courses taken prior to the 5 year time limit must be repeated The College does offer proficiency examination for these courses if taken after 5 years For more information regarding the costs of these exams please look within our tuition fees and expense information RN BSN students will be exempt General Education Exemption and Prerequisite Requirements for Those with Previous Bachelor s Students who have previously completed a bachelor s degree at another institution of higher education will be exempted from completion of any unsatisfied general education requirements Any outstanding general education course requirements will be waived as long as the cumulative grade point average for the completed degree is 2 5 or higher Nonetheless specific prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better Additional coursework may be required as some institutions may require prerequisites prior to enrolling in required courses listed Please be advised that there are financial aid implications if any of
