    in the World In this talk I will discuss projects which Millikin students have completed taking their work beyond the classroom These include an Electronics project where students built a weather balloon and instrumentation package and an Engineering Design project where students designed and built an amphitheater for the Lake Shelbyville Army Corps of Engineers among others Dr Eric Martell students have the opportunity to travel to study ecosystems such as the savanna and fynbos of South Africa the tundra in Alaska swamps in Florida rainforests in Costa Rica or the Biological Mecca Galapagos Islands The ecological journey courses involve three main components application of ecological principles learned in the classroom component to unusual habitats independent projects carried
