    Homecoming Goodheart Event Founder s Day Lindsay Medallion Give To MU Give Ways to Give Millikin Fund Big Blue Club Patrons Society About Faculty Staff Directory At A Glance Mission Values Millikin History Employment Accreditation University Marketing Administration Office of the President Office of the Provost Student Development Board of Trustees Faculty Staff Directory Media Newsroom Calendar of Events Video Gallery Photo Gallery Press Kit Youth Programs Center for Entrepreneurship You are here Home Academics Tabor School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship Get Involved Youth Programs Youth Art Show SMASH Camp Tech Adventures Celebrating Local Youth Talent High School Art Show This showcase highlights the exceptional artwork of high school students from throughout central Illinois High school art teachers submit their best student works for the art show The submissions are juried by the Millikin University Art Department and the selections are guest judged for the opportunity for students to win cash prizes and scholarships to Millikin University The competition s focus on entrepreneurship sets this event apart from other art competitions Students have the opportunity to participate in Arts Creativity and Entrepreneurship ACE a day of workshops and presentations designed to engage students in the business of art These sessions include a how to on preparing a portfolio for college submission a workshop on the studio art experience and a chance to participate in a young professional artists roundtable In addition students are encouraged to price their work to sell at the show Cash prizes are awarded to Best of Show and to selected Honorable Mention Award recipients and Millikin scholarships are awarded to the top three winners Submitting an entry 2 D artwork should be presentation ready having a frame and or a hanging device at the time of artwork drop off Any additional materials needed to properly display any piece must be provided by the artist teacher if the piece is accepted to hang in the show High school art teachers are welcome to choose up to four high school students to submit original art pieces one piece per student Please do not submit student reproductions of copyrighted imagery Submissions may be works created in the current or previous academic year Email JPEGs of the pieces to hsartshow millikin edu Please include the following information for each piece Teacher s Name School Artists First and Last Names Title of Piece Medium Size Sale Price or Not for Sale Submitted JPEGs will be used in the exhibit catalog if the piece is accepted to hang in show JPEGs may also be used in promotional materials for the High School Art Show Submission deadline TBD Notifications of acceptance into the exhibit will be sent via teacher s email The Millikin University Art Department Chairman reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of art work as per University guidelines Past winners 2014 Best of Show Ally Bower Title Untitled Acrylic Charleston High School Toni Satterfield 11 x 14 2014 Honorable Mention Art Faculty Award for 3 D Danielle Huryley Rolling
