    own teaching and learning experiences Together we can reimagine and reinvent education Find out more on http learn media mit edu April 29 4 00 PM EDT Equity and Learning in the 21st Century Classroom an unHangout Join authors and editors of Teaching in the Connected Learning Classroom to explore what we ve learned throughout our month long connectedlearning tv webinar series called Equity and Learning in the 21st Century Classroom This event will be hosted by National Writing Project and Connected Learning TV March 28 11 00 AM EDT Media Lab Virtual Visit Join ten Media Lab students to learn more about their work and the different research groups they are affiliated with What happens on March 28th After a short welcome we will break out into small group conversations where participants can ask questions and share ideas Each conversation is hosted by a current MIT Media Lab student who will talk about their research the philosophy of the groups they are affiliated with and what goes on at the Lab in general February 12 11 00 AM EDT Ideas in Action Virtual Conversations We want to experiment this year with a number of different ways to advance ideas i e to put Ideas in Action We have the opportunity to try an interesting new format virtual conversations using the Unhangout Platform We are inviting some of our speakers to be hosts of virtual discussion rooms on Feb 12 On the day of the event there will be a kick off webinar after which people will proceed to the session they are interested in In the individual discussion room participants will hear from a speaker view a TEDxBeaconStreet talk and discuss it We hope this catalyzes interest ideas and the potential for follow up to help advance the idea October 26 12 30 PM EDT Edcamp Online October is Connected Educator Month and educators across the nation are teaming up via social media to improve learning for kids To help educators debrief and reflect on that learning we are organizing the first virtual Edcamp hosted by Edcamp Foundation and National Writing Project October 18 10 00 AM EDT Data Explorer Mission Join us for a two day online data explorer mission School of Data P2PU and OKFN and the International Labor Rights Forum will bring data explorers from around the globe together to answer some of the tough questions about the global garment industry This event will be hosted by Open Knowledge Foundation and Peer 2 Peer University September 30 4 30 PM EDT Learning Aloud Geekout Join us to hear from maker experts talking about their favorite topics including Arduino Scratch Wearable Tech 3D Printing Minecraft and more Everyone will learn a little bit about all these topics plus you ll get to pick one topic to get an in depth introduction from an expert in a small group environment You ll meet other interested people in the maker movement and learn about ways to go deeper on

    you to create the event page And you can embed a sign up form using google forms for example to collect email addresses from your participants Kick off webinar related chat Each event starts in the lobby If you are the organizer you can embed a Google Hangout on Air to welcome the participants and let them know how the event will unfold Participants can use the chat window to talk with each other or ask questions During the kick off webinar the sessions on the left remains locked Pro tip the avatars on the right keep track of who is actively looking at the page If they go grey the user is looking at another window Breakout sessions After the kick off webinar is over you are connected into a Google Hangout window for your break out group Think of this as a small satellite that circles around the lobby room You can always go back to the lobby don t close the window Even if you didn t reserve a spot before you can now still join any group that has space You can also jump from session to session but remember you can only ever be in
