    is a Senior Lecturer and Visiting Scientist at MIT s Sloan School of Management The Hitachi Foundation established by Hitachi in 1985 is an expression of the company s commitment to global corporate citizenship Ms Dyer has sharpened the Foundation s focus on the role of business in society with a particular emphasis on the role of business in ameliorating poverty in America Under Ms Dyer s leadership the Foundation has been an influential force in the broader CSR field and has been instrumental in shaping two major national collaborative philanthropic initiatives Jobs to Careers with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the United States Department of Labor and the National Fund for Workforce Solutions In 2010 Jobs to Careers received the Critical Impact Award and the National Fund for Workforce Solutions received Distinguished Grantmaker of the Year for Collaboration the two highest honors proffered by the Council on Foundations Ms Dyer is a Trustee of Clark University and a member the American University School of Public Affairs Dean s Advisory Council She served as co founder and first Chair of the National Fund for Workforce Solutions She is a member of the Council on Foundations Corporate Committee She was an inaugural member of the More for Mission Leadership Committee She also serves as a member of the Points of Light Hands On Network Corporate Advisory Council Prior to joining the Foundation Ms Dyer had an extensive career in public policy as co founder of the National Academy of Public Administration s Alliance for Redesigning Government Deputy Executive Director and Director of Policy Studies with the National Governors Association affiliate the Council of Governors Policy Advisors Special Assistant to the Secretary of the United States Department of the Interior in the Carter Administration and Deputy Executive Director of the Western

    is the first book on this subject One Report was the winner of the 2010 PROSE award in the category of Business Finance Management He is a member of the International Integrated Reporting Council http www integratedreporting org and the founding chairman of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board SASB www sasb org Eccles is the co founder with George Serafeim of Harvard Business School of the Innovating for Sustainability social movement https www facebook com innovatingforsustainability and a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Sustainable Value Creation https www conference board org Eccles continues his active research program on integrated reporting His next book on the subject The Integrated Reporting Movement Meaning Momentum Motives and Materiality with Michael P Krzus and Sydney Ribot was published in November 2014 This book introduces the ideas of an annual board of directors Statement of Significant Audiences and Materiality and the Sustainable Value Matrix In developing these ideas Eccles worked closely with Tim Youmans He and Eccles are now writing a book with the working title of The Meaning of Materiality which will be an in depth treatment of the ideas introduced in The Integrated Reporting Movement and will include a public policy perspective on the important but elusive concept of materiality Youmans received his Master s Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School 2013 and is a Harvard Kennedy School Lucius N Littauer Fellow Eccles is working on two other books The first is in collaboration with Professor George Serafeim of the Harvard Business School with a working title of Mobilizing the Global 1000 based on an extensive and continuing research program on sustainability the two of them have been engaged in for the past three years The premise of this book is that the increasing economic concentration

    2009 as faculty co director of the Leaders for Global Operations formerly MIT Leaders for Manufacturing and the System Design and Management programs from 2001 to 2003 and as co director of the Center for Innovation in Product Development from 1999 to 2001 Prior to joining the MIT faculty in 1988 he worked as a machinist manufacturing engineer product designer and consultant in both prototype and production operations His research efforts are applied to improving product design and development practices Conducted within MIT s Center for Innovation in Product Development his work focuses on organizing complex design processes in order to accelerate industrial practices and has been applied primarily in the automotive electronics aerospace and equipment industries At MIT Sloan Eppinger has created an interdisciplinary product development course in which graduate students from engineering management and industrial design programs collaborate to develop new products He also teaches MIT s executive programs in the area of product development In 1993 he received both MIT s Graduate Student Council Teaching Award and the MIT Sloan Award for Innovation and Excellence in Management Education Eppinger has co authored a widely used textbook entitled Product Design and Development Fifth Edition McGraw Hill 2008 The author of more than 40 articles in refereed academic journals and conferences he received the ASME Best Paper Award in Design Theory and Methodology in 1995 and again in 2001 Eppinger lectures regularly for international corporations and in executive education programs and has consulted for or conducted research with more than 50 firms He serves on the Research Advisory Council of the Design Management Institute and on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Society of Concurrent Product Development Eppinger holds SB SM and ScD degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT Steven D Eppinger is the General Motors Leaders for
