    Life and Activities Clubs and Organizations Campus Ministries Residence Life Dining Services Student Health and Wellness This Week At Molloy Suggestion Box Molloy Life News Public Safety Leadership through service Academics Undergraduate Programs Business Business Mentor Program What is the Business Mentor Program The Molloy College Business Mentor Program Pilot Program 2015 16 provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the world of business from an experienced professional Mentors can provide invaluable insights into career choices professional guidance and career development Participation in the mentor program also offers an excellent networking opportunity which is a critical tool not only for job hunting but for longterm career success How do I get involved The program is open to full time Business Division juniors and seniors with a minimum 3 0 GPA Students must be available to participate in both the fall and spring semesters Students may participate in the program for only one year Interested students must submit a Mentee Program application an updated resume a current unofficial transcript and they must participate in a brief screening interview What is a screening interview The purpose of the screening interview is to assist in matching mentors and mentees When possible we attempt to match students with a mentor in their area of interest Many of the mentors have rotated through various business disciplines thus having the ability to offer a well rounded picture of the working world Interviews will be held in late September Business professional dress is required Who are the mentors Mentors are alumni from the Molloy Division of Business and friends of the college who are professionals in the Metropolitan New York area Mentors have at least 5 years of professional experience in a wide range of industries What is the time commitment You and your mentor determine the time commitment based on your goals for the year It is important though that you engage in consistent communication After the Kick Off event it is expected that the mentor and mentee will connect one time per month during the Fall and Spring semesters The mentee needs to take an active role in contacting the mentor and planning the meeting times just like the real world The connection can be in person or by telephone over a cup of coffee or at the mentor s place of business When will I meet my mentor This year s program will run from October through April Mentees will meet their mentors at a Kick off event on Wednesday October 28 at 7 45 a m in the Reception Room Mentee attendance at this event is required Light refreshments will be provided How will I benefit from the Mentor Program The Mentor Program provides countless benefits For many mentees their mentor serves as a sounding board for some of the decisions and milestones they experience during their college career Some areas where a mentor can be of assistance include academic major exploration career advice leadership development and the college to career
