    Fast Facts Careers at Molloy About Molloy College Human Resources Careers at Molloy Position Nursing Laboratory Instructor Position Nursing Laboratory Instructor Part Time Nursing Laboratory Instructor in the Nursing Laboratory RVC Route 110 Farmingdale Simulation Lab Supervisor Director of Nursing Laboratory General Purpose Assist undergraduate nursing students with practice of nursing skills administer and record practical testing of various nursing skills Assist undergraduate nursing students with practice of nursing skills administer and record practical testing of various nursing skills Hours and Days 2 days per week 8 hours per day Summers off July and August Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide nursing students the support necessary to practice nursing skills within the nursing lab Administer testing and evaluation of psychomotor skills for undergraduate students Provide review classes for nursing skills and provide remediation of nursing skills Integration of pathophysiology and nursing content with psychomotor skills Maintain record of student compliance of lab hours and successful student completion of skills evaluation Assist with maintenance of laboratory environment i e inventory of supplies equipment day to day running of lab anticipating faculty needs for supplies provide technical support with various teaching materials assist with student questions regarding equipment Assist with simulation experiences setup breakdown of environment scenarios Assist facilitator faculty in this specialized area of simulation Computer assistance with simulation Presence of the nursing laboratory instructor in the fundamental classes to assist with the learning and practicing of skills Remediation of students on various topics and skills Inclusion of lab instructors into the fundamental classes to assist with review and instruction of nursing skills Simulation explanation and instructions for faculty development inclusion of scenarios for the simulation area post simulations debrief activities Responsibility of simulation experiences Peripheral Duties Evaluate equipment quality need for repair and replacement Provide budget suggestions Aware of Current developments and trends in nursing through professional development reading of current literature attending conferences discussions with colleagues and participation in professional conferences and organizations Grade Math screening tests Review of nursing physicals for compliance as outlined by the Division of Nursing Information liaison for student and staff when necessary Participate on division and college wide committees Assumes other work related responsibilities as assigned by the Director of the Nursing Laboratory and Dean of the Division of Nursing Participate in campus wide committees Nursing presence at emergencies if requested Resource for wellness and Health information Desired Minimum Qualifications Baccalaureate Nursing Current New York State Nursing Registration CPR certification Malpractice Insurance Current nursing clinical experience within nursing environment 3 5 years experience as a nurse Enthusiasm and energy to work with undergraduate and graduate students Current Nursing knowledge and nursing expertise Experience and interest with Simulation activities Computer knowledge and comfort using computer programs for scheduling word processing medical record charting simulation activities Supervision received Works under the supervision of the Director of the Nursing Laboratory Supervision exercised none Responsibility for Public Contact Daily contact with students staff faculty and administration requiring courtesy discretion sound judgment tact and diplomacy Licensing and Certification New
