Resident Assistant for 4 1 2 out of my 5 years there I learned I have to be patient and learned that everyone has different perspectives I did several internships where I had interactions with individuals of ages ranging from 6 92 years of age My overall interactions with a variety of people prepared me for my career What s been the biggest surprise or shock about post college life The biggest shock about post college life to me would have to be actually paying for everything now No more meal plans and no more easy walks to Seneca Dining Hall bills suck We all have to pay them so I grin and bear it What are your hobbies I m a big foodie which may be a bit weird being a fitness professional but I LOVE FOOD I love trying new restaurants and going to wine tastings The way I see it if I eat a lot I have to constantly work out so I stay in shape laughs sounds about right What s your favorite Morrisville memory My favorite memory was passing my Lab Final my junior year with I think an 89 I was so ecstatic because I was going through a lot personally that semester with things back home and wasn t focused all semester and it showed in my grades My advisor professor Lisa Rusch told me I need to ace the final to get a decent grade for the class and I studied my butt off and it paid off Out of everything I did in college I feel like that was one of the biggest challenges I overcame What s your personal anthem A song that pumps you up defines your life etc Or perhaps you relate more to a certain novel movie

my Mimay aka Grandmother I decided to pursue a career as an actor in the entertainment industry I first applied to Oneonta State but was unable to attend because of my poor GPA I decided to go back to Morrisville State in 2012 to improve my GPA and complete my general studies requirements so I could fully focus on the Theatre program I would attend later I started back at Morrisville State during the summer semester of 2012 with a GPA of 1 41 I graduated this past May with a GPA of 3 52 as a Phi Theta Kappa honor student How did your time at MSC prepare you for your career and did some of your experiences influence your current interests When I started back up at Morrisville State I was already working a full time factory job along with two part time jobs substitute teacher actor I picked up another part time job through Morrisville State as a student note taker in August of 2012 I was able to hold all of these jobs and stay a full time student at Morrisville State because of the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State My day would start at 2 30 a m to prepare for the day then after work at 3 00 p m I would travel the short distance to the Norwich Campus for classes After my late night weekday classes were over I would travel the short distance back home to help my mother take care of my Mimay During my almost two years at Morrisville I only got between 4 5 hours of sleep a night My time spent at Morrisville State and balancing my full schedule will help me handle the tough schedule that the entertainment industry demands Without the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State I would not have been able to keep this kind of schedule nor graduate with a GPA above 3 5 Thankfully I was able to take full advantage and can now transfer to pursue my dream What s been the biggest surprise or shock about post college life I believe the greatest surprise after my time at Morrisville State is the amount of knowledge I can apply from all of my courses Whether it is American Sign Language Psychology Sociology Literature Math etc I can apply all of the courses that I have taken from Morrisville State to my everyday life I hope to keep building on that knowledge What are your hobbies I enjoy spending time with family and friends traveling learning more about present day politics investment options and reading More importantly challenging myself to make a positive difference in the lives of others What s your favorite Morrisville memory There are so many great memories from the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State I think the interactions with my fellow classmates and professors are the best memories I will take away from my time at Morrisville State Describe yourself as a freshman in ten words or less

were a student at Morrisville not so long ago Did you come to MSC already knowing what career you wanted to pursue No I was way off on my career path When I first came to Morrisville I took up Nursing and then transferred to math but I graduated with my Bachelors of Technology in Criminal Justice How did your time at MSC prepare you for your career and did some of your experiences influence your current interests The time prepared me for this career because I got a chance to bond and get to know so great people My professors such as Clare Armstrong Seward and Dave Amico helped me to think outside the box and not to limit myself If it wasn t for Professor Clare I would not have been given the chance at Syracuse Police Department and I am truly grateful I have always told her that I was never going to become a police officer but after taking some of her courses such as Interviewing Techniques and having her as a mentor she helped me to reach for higher goals She inspired me to try even if it s not something I really want to do What s been the biggest surprise or shock about post college life I thought that it would be finding a job but that came easy for me The real shock was transforming into a responsible adult and paying bills when all I want to do is buy heels What are you hobbies I like to work overtime that s what makes me happy because it s always for an exciting event like the D A R E karate tournament or a recruitment trip What s your favorite Morrisville memory There are so many great memories Working for University Police
