    ITA Veterinary Technology ITA Veterinary Technology School ITA Vet Tech Programs Off Campus Learning ITA Veterinary Technology ITA Vet Tech Schools Classrooms Labs ITA Veterinary Technician Programs ITA Programs ITA Veterinsary Technology School ITA Veterinary Tech Programs Clinic Experience ITA Veterinary Assistant Programs ITA Open House Institute of Technical Arts Vet Tech Programs Off Campus Learning The Institute of Technical Arts has off campus sites to provide additional resources for your hands on learning experiences with large animals exotics dogs and cats Through our 27 years of training individuals we have learned that some real life experiences can not be produced on campus ITA strives to ensure that you get the essential skills needed to become competitive in the ever changing veterinary technology field of medicine Off campus training provides the opportunity for you to learn about diverse animal species An ITA veterinary technology program instructor who is an experienced veterinary assistant veterinary technician or attending veterinarian supervise all of our off campus learning experiences Off campus training will usually be assigned during daytime hours regardless of your schedule for theory or lab classes It is important that you make arrangements to accommodate your off site laboratory assignments Veterinary Technology Off Campus Laboratory Experiences The Institute of Technical Arts has memorandums of understanding established with off campus sites to provide additional resources for hands on learning experiences This helps you to learn on diverse animal species Training on horses pigs goats sheep chickens cattle dogs cats and exotic animals is available through use of off site facilities such as horse farms cattle ranches zoos serpentariums marine animal facilities bird and wildlife sanctuaries and animal rescue organizations Veterinary Technology Class Field Trips At the Institute of Technical Arts you may have the opportunity to view other veterinary operations through organized field trips which are organized by the ITA s school of veterinary technology During these field trips you will observe and gain knowledge of different animal facilities and gain insight toward your own veterinary technology career goals ITA s Veterinary technology instructors accompany you on field trips to supplement the curriculum and introduce you to situations that cannot be reproduced on campus at the off site veterinary laboratory experiences or at the veterinary externship sites You may visit zoos serpentarium wildlife sanctuaries exotic animal locations and bird of prey facilities on your field trips Veterinary Technology Program Externship At the Institute of Technical Arts veterinary externship training courses are designed to be instructional by nature providing you with hands on experience ITA s veterinary externships are a cooperative effort between the our school our student and the clinical site ITA s veterinary technology institute has agreements with over 100 veterinary externship sites in the Orlando metropolitan area Our veterinary externship sites include specialty veterinary hospitals such as Affiliated Veterinary Specialists as well as the Banfield chain of animal hospitals that are located in PetSmart Many professional privately owned veterinary practices have become part of ITA s veterinary technology school externship program
