    482 The Toll Free Number is 888 994 4 ITA 482 Text 321 282 6 ITA 482 Email info myITA edu Admission Requirements for Institute of Technical Arts Students All students entering ITA need to have a standard high school diploma GED or equivalent to be enrolled in the school s vet tech institute or pet grooming academy Certificates of Completion and Special High School Diplomas are not accepted Nontraditional high school diplomas will not be accepted unless the issuing school is accredited by an organization recognized by the United States Department of Education There is no prior work experience required to enter the vet tech institute or pet grooming academy at ITA You need to possess a positive attitude have a desire to learn and succeed and be prepared to work hard Effective interpersonal skills are required You are expected to demonstrate your ability to benefit from the academic program of your choice Degree seeking students need to be at least 18 years of age Non degree seeking students must be at least 16 years of age Anyone under 18 years of age is required to have written parental or guardian consent You need to be in good physical condition and willing to apply yourself when entering ITA s vet tech institute or pet grooming academy All our programs require manual dexterity The dog groomer occupations vet assistant occupations and vet tech occupations that are taught at ITA can be physically demanding Activities in our vet tech institute pet grooming academy and on the job will require turning lifting kneeling stooping and standing for long periods Be aware of the physical limitations in vet tech occupations vet assistant occupations and dog groomer occupations You should have the availability to devote and demonstrate a sufficient amount of time and effort to attend classes laboratory sessions and externships if applicable Additional time needs to be set aside for studying research completing projects and submitting homework assignments All classes are taught at ITA are in English You need to be able to speak read write and comprehend English fluently If English is not your native or first language you need to demonstrate sufficient command of the English language by providing evidence that you meet English proficiency standards The only language spoken in our classrooms is English Additional Requirements for Institute of Technical Arts Degree Seeking Students Students entering the Institute of Technical Arts veterinary technology college level degree program have additional specific entrance requirements that need to be satisfied before the applicant will be accepted into those programs Degree seeking students need to be at least 18 years of age If you have a high school diploma you are required to have graduated with a cumulative grade point average CGPA of a minimum of 3 0 on a 4 0 grading scale Applicants having an associate degree that is fully transferable to a 4 year bachelor s degree may submit their college CGPA for acceptance into ITA s degree program in lieu
