  • Spellings Visits the Department
    her first stop was the home of ISE Daniels Hall Spellings visited the department and toured the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logisitcs CAMAL laboratory where she talked with professors Russell King Ola Harrysson and Denis Marcellin Little I saw a machine that is the 1st in the world of its kind in 3D printing and the applications are tremendous said Spellings referring to the ARCAM Electron Beam Melting EBM 3D printer ISE is renowned for having the world s first EBM machine The professors discussed how CAMAL uses 3D printing innovation to create new processes for creating everything from spare parts and prototypes for large industrial manufacturing purposes to helping save the lives of cats and dogs What we have here is a cutting edge lab where we can do development both for the medical industry and also for aerospace and other types of industries explained Dr Harrysson After talking with the faculty Spellings took time to chat with ISE students Carter Keough Matthew White Logan Freebourn Zaynab Maybooba and Aidan Special who work in the lab It s exciting to hear that she supports students and makes them a priority said Carter Keough After Spellings moved on to

  • Addison Named ACC Field Performer of the Year

  • Best Day Ever!
    always has enthusiasm Williams is the eighth person to become a Kay Yow Scholar Athlete of the Year The award is of course named after the legendary Kay Yow who coached NC State s women s basketball team from 1975 to 2009 Among her many accomplishments Yow is a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame and coached the U S women s basketball team to Olympic gold in 1988 She also lead the Wolfpack to four ACC Championships Williams and teammate Jennifer Mathurin join 21 others on this year s All ACC Women s Basketball Academic Team For Williams this is her second time on the All ACC squad having also earned this recognition last year Having Ashley along with Kaley in industrial engineering has been a great thing throughout my academic career confided Ashley Eli Not only is Ashley a good teammate but a good classmate as well I m so happy she made the All Academic team and wish her the best in the future And if that wasn t enough Williams and the NC State women s basketball team went out and picked up their 20th win of the season that same night The Wolfpack never
