    Research oversees the NDUS Core Technology Services CTS and institutional research one of the most critical components of university system operations Dr Feldner previously was CIO for the Information Technology Department for the State of North Dakota where she oversaw technology activities in state and local government managed a staff of 300 employees and a budget of 82 million Feldner also held leadership roles in coordinating major IT initiatives including the Statewide Technology Access for Government and Education Network STAGEnet the Criminal Justice Information System CJIS ConnectND and the Geographical Information GIS Hub Prior to Dr Feldner s appointment as ITD s CIO she served as the Technology Director for Bismarck Public Schools where she managed the budget and staff including the development design and integration of software and hardware systems for more than 13 000 users at 26 campuses Feldner has a Ph D in educational leadership from the University of North Dakota a master of science in mathematics education from Minot State University and bachelor s of science degrees in computer science and business education also from MiSU Phone 701 328 1510 E mail lisa feldner ndus edu return to top Linda Donlin M S B S Vice Chancellor for Strategic Engagement Linda Donlin is the University System s vice chancellor for strategic engagement Donlin oversees engagement of all stakeholders in the State Board of Higher Education s vision for NDUS and development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan for the system This oversight includes public relations and communications with diverse NDUS external and internal audiences She previously worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn as public affairs manager where she was responsible for strategic communication with various audiences including the Board of Trustees Board of Governors 58 000 employees across Mayo s campuses and the public Donlin is a native North Dakotan and also worked as director of communications and public relations at MDU Resources Group Inc and as senior editor at Basin Electric Power Cooperative both in Bismarck She has a master s degree in management with a human resources emphasis and a bachelor s degree in business management with a minor in public relations both from the University of Mary in Bismarck Phone 701 328 2962 E mail linda donlin ndus edu return to top Tammy Dolan Chief Financial Officer Tammy Dolan is the University System s chief financial officer Dolan oversees administrative affairs as it impacts all stakeholders within the university system She previously worked in the Office of Management and Budget Fiscal Management Division as a management and fiscal analyst While there she helped develop and implement a new funding model for higher education in North Dakota which focuses on completed credit hours Her 25 year career in state government has centered on the financial and administrative operations of multiple state agencies and the legislative process In that role her expertise included a portfolio representing 20 state agencies responsible for the state s education and economic development systems She worked with OMB

  • North Dakota University System: North Dakota University System : Economic Impact of the North Dakota University System
    past 12 years and now stands at an estimated 4 4 billion for Fiscal Year 2011 compared to 3 7 billion in FY 2009 according to the recent Economic Impact of the North Dakota University System report This is a result of 1 6 billion in student spending and NDUS expenditures coupled with secondary economic impacts The system employed more than 11 000 workers educated about 48 000 headcount students and the expenditures supported more than 11 000 secondary jobs The FY 2011 report was conducted by North Dakota State University s Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics and is similar to other studies done in 1999 2004 2008 and 2009 Report authors Dean A Bangsund Randall C Coon and Nancy M Hodur used the North Dakota Input Output Model to estimate economic impact The authors concluded that the state s colleges and universities are able to leverage more than 2 30 from external sources for every dollar of state appropriated funds Much of those non appropriated funds come from outside sources and could be considered new money to the state The Nov 15 2012 University System news release provides a summary of the 2011 report findings Economic Impact of

    for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state SARA is overseen by a National Council and administered by four regional education compacts How can my institution join SARA Any degree granting institution based in the United States holding proper authorization from Congress a U S state or a federally recognized Indian tribe and holding accreditation from an accrediting association recognized by the U S Secretary of Education is eligible to apply to its home state to participate in SARA if that state is a SARA member For more information click here Complaints to the North Dakota University System NDUS office regarding North Dakota degree granting post secondary institutions authorized or exempted in NDCC and those participating in the National State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement SARA The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education has delegated to NDUS college and university officials authority and responsibility to resolve student and other complaints Absent applicable law or policy establishing another remedy the first step in resolving student or other complaints or grievances is to attempt to resolve the matter directly with the administration of the involved institution under established institution complaint or grievance procedures Every North Dakota institution private for profit and public is required to establish publish and enforce policies related to redress of complaints and grievances With limited exceptions a student or other person who contacts the NDUS office regarding complaints regarding exempted or authorized North Dakota institutions or those participating in the SARA will be referred to college or university officials responsible for resolving those matters In the event that institutional processes do not result in a successful resolution of a complaint NDUS is responsible for final resolution
