  • Administrative Support: Jobs: Norwich University
    Technician Description A Technician is sought to provide technical and electronics support as well as general lab support for the David Crawford School of Engineering DCSE within the College of Professional Schools CoPS Responsible for proactively maintaining and repairing electronic equipment as well as computer hardware and software in all engineering labs working with the Office of Information Technology Services ITS to ensure that lab computing resources conform to the University s IT policies procedures and licensing as appropriate Assists in preparing laboratories for day to day instruction and assists laboratory instructors in training students on the use of the equipment In addition to supporting electrical and computer lab related activities the electrical technician will also assist with mechanical civil and environmental and construction lab activities Responsible for recommending and coordinating purchase requests for monitoring the loan of equipment and for maintaining inventory of incidental electronic items Supports the faculty in teaching and research assists students with projects supervises student employees provides general support for School related events that may occasionally occur on evenings and weekends and performs other duties for the School as well as the College as appropriate to the position As the lead for electrical and computer related support the electrical technician is expected to work closely with the mechanical civil technician who is the lead for mechanical civil related support these two technicians together provide all in house lab support for the DCSE This is an eleven month position with benefits Qualifications The successful candidate will have three or more years of related job experience An associate s or bachelor s degree in a technical discipline is preferred The candidate must have an expert working knowledge of electronics instrumentation personal computers software licensing and deployment instruction in equipment use and lab administration The candidate must be
