    meet with representatives of public interest service organizations both for formal interviewing and at informational tables A variety of government small firms and legal organizations conduct formal interviews The informational tables are a great way to network and obtain information about the various employers Important Dates Late Student Registration Deadline Feb 1 2016 at 11 59pm Students who register late and Recent Grads will only be able to participate in Table Talk not interviews Free Interview Sign Up Feb 1 Feb 3 2016 at 3pm for early reg students only Interview Prep Navigating the Career Fair Workshop Monday Feb 1 11am Tudor Room Interview Cancellation Deadline Feb 3 2016 at 3pm PILC Fair February 4 5 2016 NEXT STEPS As a reminder the NYU Career Fair will take place at NYU School of Law on Thursday and Friday February 4 th and 5 th 2016 Interview Schedule We expect that initial interview selections will be available online by Saturday January 30th check the Fair site for updates Schedules do not become final until the day before the fair due to the Alternate and Free Sign Up process If you are selected by an employer as an Alternate you will automatically be moved into an available slot should one open that matched your availability Free Sign Up Students not selected for an interview with an employer may still sign up for any last minute openings during the Free Sign Up period which begins on Monday February 1 st at 9am and ends on Wednesday February 3 rd at 3pm We understand that students have classes scheduled on the days of the career fair and that you have decisions to make about how to manage your time The PILC cannot advise students or answer specific questions regarding missing class in order to

    of qualifying pro bono work Like all components of the NYS Bar application completion and certification of these pro bono hours is your responsibility The PILC is eager to help you understand the 50 hour requirement so that you can plan ahead and easily comply The 50 hour requirement and accompanying information from the NYS Unified Court System including the FAQ s is found here and a basic overview is below WHO must meet the 50 hour requirement Anyone seeking admission to the NYS Bar on or after January 1 2015 This includes CURRENT LAW STUDENTS seeking admission to the NYS Bar on or after January 1 2015 LAW SCHOOL GRADUATES seeking admission to the NYS Bar on or after January 1 2015 LLM STUDENTS GRADUATES seeking admission to the NYS Bar on or after January 1 2015 WHAT qualifies for pro bono service Pro bono service is public interest legal work supervised by an attorney The work may be done in a variety of settings including internships in nonprofit organizations or government offices law school public interest clinics and externships judicial internships and pro bono programs such as some offered by the PILC Such pro bono service can be done for academic credit be paid or be completed as a volunteer The hours may be performed at any time during law school or after graduation preceding application to the Bar COMPLIANCE TRACKING RESPONSIBILITY It is your responsibility to fulfill the requirement and to complete the NYS Unified Court System s Affidavit of Compliance for each qualifying pro bono activity The affidavit found here includes a Certification Form to be completed by each supervising attorney or judge confirming your pro bono activities It is your responsibility to keep track of your total pro bono hours It is your responsibility to

    Academic Calendar January Admits Registrar Bursar Shuttle Bus Schedule Campus Map Departmental Directory Give to Pace Law School Web Mail Pace University Search form Search You are here Home The PILC Public Interest Summer Fellowship PILSO Auction PILSO NEEDS YOU Help Pace Law students afford public interest summer internships by donating items or services to the annual Public Interest Law Students Organization PILSO Auction This is PILSO s biggest fundraiser of the year Donations can include retail items tickets to sporting or cultural events and services such as training sessions or use of a vacation home for a weekend Every summer law students who already shoulder the burden of 50 100 000 in student loans work at unpaid summer internships at nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies that serve the poor and advocate for people s rights With the plight of the economy these organizations are seeing increased caseloads and rely on their summer interns more than ever PILSO raises funds to provide grants to students who spend their summers interning at these organizations This year s PILSO online auction will take place from March 9 March 16 View last year s auction here All donors will receive a letter for
