  • Nominating Committee Procedures | Pace Law School
    six Faculty members for membership on the Nominating Committee Those who receive more than fifty percent of the votes cast will become members of the new Nominating Committee The candidates for this round shall be all members of the full time faculty who will not hold administrative appointments during the following year Round Two The candidates for this round shall be those persons who received the greatest numbers of votes cast in the previous round The number of candidates for this round shall be twice the number of Nominating Committee positions that remain unfilled after the previous round except if there was a tie for last place then all persons receiving the tie number of votes shall be candidates for this round Those who receive more than fifty percent of the votes cast will be members of the new Nominating Committee Rounds Three to Six These rounds will run in the same fashion as the above rounds until six faculty members have been elected After the February Faculty meeting the following actions will take place February March The Staff Assistant to the Dean will send out an email to faculty members with instructions to list their committee preferences by March 10 th by completing the online form The form will provide a link to a list of the previous year s committee memberships The Staff Assistant to the Dean will schedule a two hour meeting of the Nominating Committee to be held within two weeks of the March 10 th deadline The purpose of this meeting will be for the Committee to decide upon faculty membership on each faculty committee for the upcoming year In preparation for this meeting the following items will be provided to members of the Nominating Committee Copies of Faculty Committee preferences spreadsheet Mandatory Committee Membership

    and Procedures Selling Photocopies Materials in the Bookstore Staff Assistant Work Priorities Guidelines Travel Funding Policy Use of Facilities by External Groups Visiting Scholar Policy Quick Links A Z Index Apply Now Academic Calendar Academic Calendar January Admits Registrar Bursar Shuttle Bus Schedule Campus Map Departmental Directory Give to Pace Law School Web Mail Pace University Search form Search You are here Home Faculty Faculty Portal Faculty Portal Home Administrative Policies Office Move Protocol Office of Responsibility Finance and Administration ext 4225 The purpose of the Office Move Protocol is to ensure that Office of Finance and Administration can plan for the allocation of law school and university staff time for the summer months and to ensure that all moves are completed prior to the commencement of classes On March 15 of each year the Chief Operating Officer will make a request of all deans and directors and faculty regarding office moves that will be required for the summer months A reminder notice will be sent on April 1 Requests for office moves must be submitted to the COO on or before April 15 of each year Requests for office moves that are received later than April 15th will not be accepted unless the required move could not have been anticipated before that date The COO will ensure that all office moves are planned and completed from May 25 to August 15 and will communicate the planned moving dates to the Faculty and Deans and Directors The following matters must be planned for each move boxes provided for the move painting of offices while empty phone lines installed or relocated computer lines installed or relocated an assessment of computing needs in the relevant spaces and provision of computers printers as needed an assessment of fax needs in the relevant spaces

    Procedures Salary Anomalies Policy and Procedures Selling Photocopies Materials in the Bookstore Staff Assistant Work Priorities Guidelines Travel Funding Policy Use of Facilities by External Groups Visiting Scholar Policy Quick Links A Z Index Apply Now Academic Calendar Academic Calendar January Admits Registrar Bursar Shuttle Bus Schedule Campus Map Departmental Directory Give to Pace Law School Web Mail Pace University Search form Search You are here Home Faculty Faculty Portal Faculty Portal Home Administrative Policies Ordering Reprints of Scholarly Articles Policy on Ordering Reprints of Scholarly Articles The Law School will pay for 250 reprints of a faculty member s law review articles if ordered before the article is published Thus when a journal asks a faculty member how many copies he or she would like the faculty member must inform the journal at that time Even in the digital age it is much more expensive to order reprints after the article has been published At the time that you order the reprints please provide a copy of the order to the Communications Department They will handle payment once the final invoice is issued Once the reprints come in a faculty member can do with them as he or she wishes Most faculty members coordinate wide distribution of the article through Brenda Thornton in the Dean s Office If the faculty member drafts a proposed cover letter and furnishes a sufficient number of reprints Brenda will handle the mailing of the article to ABA Law School Deans The cover letter should be drafted for signature by our dean It should describe the article s principal arguments and contributions to the field Usually the receiving dean passes along the article to the person at their school who teaches in the field so this is a more cost effective method than ordering

    Shuttle Bus Schedule Campus Map Departmental Directory Give to Pace Law School Web Mail Pace University Search form Search You are here Home Faculty Faculty Portal Faculty Portal Home Administrative Policies Pace Law School Name Guidelines Office of Responsibility Marketing Communications ext 4128 The Law School community should use only the official ABA name Pace University School of Law and the abbreviated version Pace Law School when referring to the Law School Other versions may not be used in correspondence on the Web or in publications The name Pace University School of Law is used in all official documents of the University such as diplomas and certificates transcripts and any other documents so identified by the University formal invitations carrying the University seal such as those issued on behalf of the President the Trustees the Dean and the Faculty the school s official media boilerplate An official logo for the Law School with the University s seal must be used on all documents and publications No other versions of this logo should be used Questions about the use of Law School name and logo should be directed to the Office of Marketing Communications Pace Law School should be used on marketing materials enrollment and non enrollment including the bulletin brochures invitations wall and podium banners on the web site home page and all subsequent pages collegiate apparel and other promotional items sold in the Bookstore and any other such marketing pieces that may be developed or are not here named Staff should answer the phone Pace Law School Students are encouraged to use the name Pace University School of Law on resumes and Pace Law School in any other communication in which they refer to the School Recognized student organizations should use the name Pace Law School in all communications

  • Photocopying Guidelines | Pace Law School
    by the Law School Coin operated machines located in the Library and in the basement of the new Classroom Building may be used for personal photocopying The coin operated copiers cost 15 per page and a reduction in the per page cost is available if one purchases a copy card from the Library Every effort should be made to copy only the actual amount needed for a job and to use double sided copying Faculty staff and students should make their best efforts to follow these guidelines No one may make more than 10 copies of any document up to 10 pages in length Bulk photocopying should be sent to Document Services In cases of uncertainty the staff member should not photocopy the document Secretaries should not print out copy emails for Faculty unless each particular email printout is requested by the Faculty member There will be no bulk email printouts carried out for faculty unless approved by the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration There will be no photocopying of books or entire law reviews without written permission of the copyright holder Faculty members may copy whole law review articles for their own research and for class preparation All copies for filing i e cc s mail merges should include one copy of the letter and one copy of the database used in the mail merge All photocopy machines will have access codes in order to reduce unauthorized copying to properly track usage by various departments and to track usage of all jobs assigned to a code Codes will be assigned by the Office of Finance and Administration and that office will track usage Codes will be changed in June of each year Usage will be tracked and usage reports will be issued in December May and August of each year Codes will be assigned to faculty staff and student groups for their copying Secretaries will be given confidential code numbers for each of their Faculty as well as a personal code number for the photocopiers to which they are assigned Staff will have separate codes for their different areas of responsibilities Faculty will have separate codes for their class work their research work and for Law School Committee work Faculty members may give their research assistants their codes for research but must inform the students that the code must be kept confidential and used only for that faculty member s work and One person from each student organization will receive their organization copy code and will be responsible for ensuring that only authorized use of photocopy equipment is permitted Faculty members requesting research from the Law Library that requires the production of photocopies should provide the library with the appropriate copy code The Law Library will not be distributing copy codes to student staff or Faculty The attached grid indicates all our copy machines and which people or groups are assigned to specific machines Every person is assigned to more than one machine so that there is a

    Guidelines Travel Funding Policy Use of Facilities by External Groups Visiting Scholar Policy Quick Links A Z Index Apply Now Academic Calendar Academic Calendar January Admits Registrar Bursar Shuttle Bus Schedule Campus Map Departmental Directory Give to Pace Law School Web Mail Pace University Search form Search You are here Home Faculty Faculty Portal Faculty Portal Home Administrative Policies Professional Development of Scholarship Initiative for Professional Development of Scholarship Several years ago the Pace Law School Faculty adopted a statement of Expectation of our Members In that statement we affirmed our commitment to teach with excellence engage in legal scholarship to promote law as a learned profession and actively participate in the self governance and life of the law school and the broader community Each of these expectations is equally important and essential to the ongoing vitality of our Law School community At the same time improving our school s reputation among our academic peers is an urgent priority One of the ways to achieve that goal is through quantitative and qualitative changes to our scholarly productivity and placement The following initiative is intended to support that goal Over the course of the next few months I also will explore initiatives for the professional development of teaching and service Availability of Reduced Teaching Load Effective with the Fall 2010 semester a faculty member may request a reduced teaching load for two 2 consecutive academic years with such teaching load being 3 courses or approximately 9 to 10 credits per year Decisions to award a reduced teaching load are discretionary and will be made by the Dean in consultation with the Academic Dean and the Dean for Scholarship and Faculty Development Factors that will be considered include but are not limited to the instructional needs of the school or whether the
