    Prescott City Statistics Dining Lodging Preview Day Registration Things to do Visit the Prescott College Campus Walk Bike Drive At a Glance Campus Field Stations Student Life Athletics Veterans Research Ethics IRB Employer of National Service Office of the President Virtual Campus Tour Schedule a Visit Request Information Apply Now Prescott College Home Explore Plan a Visit Photo By Matthew Lester The Prescott Area and Prescott College Beauty and Excitement Prospective students for Prescott College s bachelor s master s or doctoral degree programs have two options for visiting campus General Campus Visits One option is to schedule an individualized visit that includes meeting with Admissions and Financial Aid staff and taking a tour of campus These general campus visits are available any weekday Monday Friday except holidays usually starting at 10 am To schedule a general campus visit please fill out the form below You are invited to visit Prescott College or contact the Admissions Office at 877 350 2100 extension 2100 Preview Days Another option is for prospective students to attend one of our Preview Days which take place periodically throughout the year Preview Day is an open house event which features additional opportunities for prospective students to mingle and interact with various representatives from the College often including Admissions Financial Aid Student Life and Housing as well as current students and faculty when available Family and friends are welcome to join you Follow this Learn more and RSVP for Preview Day Visiting prospective students for the Resident Undergraduate Degree are eligible to receive a 250 Visit Grant upon completion of a general campus visit or attendance at Preview Day If you are accepted to and enrolled in the Resident Undergraduate program during the following Academic Year this grant will be applied automatically to your student bill Getting to Prescott College By Plane Flying into Phoenix Phoenix s Sky Harbor Airport is the nearest large airport about 100 miles from Prescott Plan to make shuttle arrangements coinciding with airline arrival and departure Shuttle vans run several times daily between various locations in Prescott and Sky Harbor Airport see below Travel to and from the airport and Prescott is approximately 2 hours Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport is a smaller airport in the Phoenix area which houses Allegiant Spirit and Frontier Airlines There are no direct shuttles between Prescott and this airport but students can take a shuttle between Sky Harbor and Gateway Phoenix Gateway Direct or 855 982 2555 The shuttle between airports takes about 45 minutes Flying into Love Field Prescott There is also a small airfield near Prescott Earnest A Love Field Great Lakes Airlines provides daily direct flights to and from Ontario CA ONT Farmington NM Durango CO and Denver CO Through a code share agreement with United Airlines many other US and international destinations are available Great Lakes Reservations at 800 554 5111 By Car From I 40 Flagstaff Take Interstate I 17 south towards Phoenix approximately 62 miles Take exit 278 onto AZ 169

    Give Ways to Give What to Give Annual Report Explore Endowments Planned Giving Donor Recognition Meet our Staff My Prescott Calendar Email Search Quicklinks Directory Calendar Email My Academic Services My Prescott My Classroom Moodle Library Admissions Financial Aid Virtual Tour Give to Prescott College Sustainability Employment Opportunities Walk Bike Drive Explore Home History Values Vision Plan a Visit Arts Culture Getting to Prescott College Prescott City Statistics Dining Lodging Preview Day Registration Things to do Visit the Prescott College Campus Walk Bike Drive At a Glance Campus Field Stations Student Life Athletics Veterans Research Ethics IRB Employer of National Service Office of the President Virtual Campus Tour Schedule a Visit Request Information Apply Now Prescott College Home Explore Plan a Visit Prescott Arizona With its pre World War II street layout and ready access to trails Prescott is a walking and biking mecca both for transportation and recreation Prescott is also within 90 minutes driving distance to a mountain resort town Flagstaff and a desert metropolis Phoenix Students living in the older part of town near the College can make do without a car very easily though trips to the town s main health food store New Frontiers will take bikers and walkers on some of Prescott s busier roads Within a mile of the school however are three chain grocery stores Fry s Safeway and Albertson s as well as a plethora of restaurants including Indian Spanish Italian Thai Japanese and Mexican outlets as well as various styles of American cuisine The Raven Cafe Prescott Cantina and Gurley St Coffee are three close by student favorites Walk Along Granite Creek in some parts of downtown Prescott wind greenway trails suitable for both biking and walking One section connects Prescott s Ecohood near the College with downtown Prescott The downtown area itself features the Prescott Public Library Sharlot Hall Museum and numerous venues for community involvement and conviviality Bike With its paved rural loops and comprehensive trail system Prescott attracts both road bikers and mountain bikers from all over Nevertheless many of the trails are lightly used meaning that students out for a ride will often have them to themselves The gridded streets surrounding the courthouse square hearken back to the planners President Lincoln sent out to design the town in the 1860s They diffuse the number and speed of cars traveling Prescott s streets making for more pleasant and safe walking and biking experiences For students with a passion for biking there are several biking clubs and organizations Prescott Alternative Transportation PAT Prescott Alternative Transportation takes a positive approach to working towards a bicycle and pedestrian friendly Prescott PAT members are out in force every spring for bike month and for Ride to Work with the Mayor day Raven Singletrack A mountain biking advocacy organization that works hard and doesn t take itself too seriously Raven Singletrack organizes races group rides and trail maintenance and produces the Snap Map a guide to Prescott s outstanding network of mountain

save and spend smart Repaying Your Loans Expand All Minimize All Consequences of Default Consequences of Default Default Default occurs when a borrower s payments to their lender become more than 270 days delinquent After the 270 days the lender files a claim with the guarantee agency for reimbursement of the borrower s outstanding loan balance Per federal regulations the lender must document the servicing of the loan s by the lender Once the guarantee agency determines the loan has been correctly serviced they will purchase the loan s from the lender Most federal student loans issued through Prescott College have been guaranteed by ECMC What Are the Consequences If I Default The consequences are serious and long term Loans may be assigned to a collection agency A defaulted loan is reported as a collection account to national credit bureaus The borrower may experience credit problems Problems may occur with securing collateral cure periods foreclosures and mortgage insurance denial Right to deferment is lost Eligibility for further financial aid is stopped until the loan s is paid in full or is in repayment and the borrower has met all requirements for additional financial aid The borrower s school may withhold academic transcripts State and federal tax refunds may be offset withheld to repay the defaulted student loan s Wages may be garnished Loan Discharge Consider loan discharge forgiveness of your student loan if you meet the federally mandated requirements If you are eligible for loan discharge your student loan will be forgiven and you will not have Teachers Program allows qualifying borrowers to have a portion of their Federal Student Loans forgiven In exchange for teaching in a qualified low income school for five years up to 5000 maximum of your outstanding student loans are forgiven or cancelled Conditions for Eligibility Loans must be made on or after October 1st 1998 You must be employed as a full time teacher for five consecutive years At least one year must be after the 1997 98 academic year You must teach at a qualifying school Certain conditions allow for interruption of teaching service You must have an unpaid balance on as a result of a specific situation During a deferment interest will not accrue on a subsidized loan There are several types of deferments including Economic Hardship in school unemployment and rehabilitation training for the disabled Deferments are not automatically granted Contact your lender for proper policies and procedures Economic Hardship is the most common type of Deferment You are eligible if you are receiving public assistance have a high debt burden or are unemployed You may also qualify if you have a low monthly income In School You can also defer your loan if you are enrolled at least half time as a student at a Student Financial Aid eligible school or you are enrolled full time at a school run by the federal government such as the military academies If you received some or all of your loans before July 1993 you may qualify for a deferment if you are temporarily totally disabled or if you ve engaged in certain public service activities such as service in the Armed Forces the Peace Corps or as
