    Mentor Guides Highlights Directory Departments Offices Experience News Events Publications Blogs Symposiums Give Ways to Give What to Give Annual Report Explore Endowments Planned Giving Donor Recognition Meet our Staff My Prescott Calendar Email Search Quicklinks Directory Calendar Email My Academic Services My Prescott My Classroom Moodle Library Admissions Financial Aid Virtual Tour Give to Prescott College Sustainability Employment Opportunities The Fifth Annual Sustainability Education Symposium Experience Home News Events Publications Blogs Symposiums Virtual Campus Tour Schedule a Visit Request Information Apply Now Prescott College Home Experience Symposiums Symposium Theme Energizing Our Ecosystems Keynote Speaker Dr Craig Chalquist Location Crossroads Center Prescott College Campus When May 16th 18th 2013 Featuring Presentations Panels Music and More Special Musical Guests Owen and Moley Ó Súilleabháin With internationally known keynote speakers and renowned sustainability experts each May the Prescott College Ph D program in Sustainability Education hosts a symposium centered on the theme of sustainability and its connection with education throughout our society Prescott College is pleased to announce the Fifth Annual Sustainability Education Symposium to be held May 16 18 2013 at the College s Prescott Arizona campus This year the Master of Arts students and faculty will also be present with the inclusion of master s thesis presentations on a variety of topics This year s symposium features Owen and Moley Ó Súilleabháin two singers speakers composers and brothers from Ireland with a rich musical tradition Owen and Moley have performed internationally with their mother the singer and theologian Dr Nóirín Ní Riain They will bring a mix of music from traditional Irish and sacred songs to ultra modern original pop songs Their goal is to write songs that lift the human heart to generosity and gratitude while also being groovy The brothers have performed with Russell Crowe The Chieftains Bobby McFerrin and renowned poet David Whyte They are currently working on their 3rd album of sacred a capella songs from many traditions Our keynote speaker is Dr Craig Chalquist department chair of East West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies and a former core faculty member in the Department of Consciousness Transformative Studies at John F Kennedy University He is an academic adviser and adjunct faculty at Antioch University Prescott College and Pacifica Graduate Institute and the online General Psychology instructor for College of the Siskiyous Dr Chalquist has worked as a family therapist conflict resolution facilitator lecturer and group facilitator He earned his PhD at Pacifica Graduate Institute where he studied depth psychology with an ecological approach While working as a therapist he spent six years providing group counseling for men and women referred for mandatory therapy In October of 2010 he launched a one year Certificate in Ecotherapy at JFK University and designed the curriculum for a Certificate in Ecotherapy and Sustainable Culture for The Graduate Institute in Connecticut About the Symposium The Prescott College Symposium on Sustainability Education is an annual conference bringing community members experts and students of sustainability education together to learn about
