    Formal Training Not in a position Must complete the full 21 day program Holding a title and with less than ten 10 years experience Must complete the full 21 day program 2 Persons Seeking Recertification those with lapsed or inactive CRP certification Must complete the Application for Certification Recertification form to document work experience and recycling related activities and or accomplishments including the date of initial certification Must attend an offering of The Recycling Coordinator s Primer Must complete nine 9 additional hours of continuing education as outlined in CRP program guidance within one 1 calendar year of the initial request for recertification 3 Persons Holding a Title and With Experience these requirements would apply to those in the positions of Clerk Health Officer Township Manager Purchasing Agent Township Engineer Recycling Coordinator District Recycling Coordinator and related statutory positions county municipal or government employees only Those with ten 10 or more years of experience time in the position Must complete the Application for Certification Recertification form to document work experience and recycling related activities and or accomplishment Must complete the four 4 day alternate program and pass the associated exam Those with less than ten 10 or more years of experience time in the position Must complete the full 21 day program 4 Certified Public Works Managers those who have passed the CPWM exam and hold a current certification Note All programs will provide CPWM recertification credits With ten 10 or more years of experience Must complete the Application for Certification Recertification form to document work experience and completion of the CPWM course including date of initial certification and CPWM number Must complete the four 4 day alternate program and pass the associated exam With less than ten 10 years of experience Must complete the full 21 day program with exemptions for overlapping CPWM courses i e Management Skills Public Policy and Communications Skills The determination of which training course is applicable to a given individual will be made through review of the Application for Certification Recertification by members of the Recycling Advisory Committee a group of professionals from the fields of recycling solid waste and government charged with constantly reviewing and updating the series training A copy of this form must accompany all registration forms or be sent separately for review prior to program registration NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE If you have any questions please contact Carol Broccoli at 732 932 9271 or broccoli njaes rutgers edu CRPs with Expired Certifications Once certified CRPs must complete 20 hours of continuing professional education training over a two year period on issues relating to solid waste and or recycling in order to maintain their certification A Recertification Tracking Form must be returned to OCPE within one 1 month of the end of the recertification period to document recertification efforts during the prior two years If you completed the series classes and were certified but have allowed your certification to lapse this is your opportunity to recertify without re taking the

    equals 20 NOTE Classroom or course based training refers to events gatherings seminars assemblies and the like live in person or on line or portions thereof during which information is presented and or topics are discussed that are educational in nature Meetings or events or portions thereof that are procedural in nature or for which the primary purpose of the gathering is to focus on topics that are related to workplace operations scheduling productivity resources etc will not be considered for classroom credit Partial classroom course based credit may be assigned to these events for portions of events or programs that are a minimum of one 1 hour in length It is your responsibility to maintain a record of the credits you earn and to forward that information to the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station Office of Continuing Professional Education OCPE when you have fulfilled the requirements for recertification The Recertification Tracking Form available on this site or by calling 732 932 9271 x618 must be returned to OCPE within one 1 month of the end of the recertification period to document recertification efforts during the prior two years OCPE does not maintain any sort of central database of recertification information it is a self reporting process Recertification credits can be obtained through a number of different forums providing the requirements for obtaining approval of these programs for use as recertification credits have been met Recertification credits DO NOT have to be earned through programs or events sponsored by OCPE or ANJR Potential sources of credits include Recycling Certification Series courses offered by OCPE ANJR meetings or other programs County municipal coordinator meetings formal scheduled meetings with agendas and speakers that have received prior approval for use as recertification credits and Programs related to recycling sponsored by the Solid Waste Management Association of North America SWANA the US EPA NJDEP or professional organizations groups whose events have been given prior approval for use as recertification credit hours We welcome and encourage other programs or training sessions to be submitted for approval for CRP recertification Programs submitted must meet the following criteria The sponsoring agency group must submit a request for approval of the program for review to OCPE at least fourteen 14 working days before the first day of the event The request must include an hour by hour agenda listing topics speakers and program objectives The sponsoring agency must agree to provide a roster of attendees and a copy of a sign in sheet to confirm participation This information must be submitted to OCPE within ten 10 working days of the completion of the program The sponsoring agency must agree to provide confirmation of attendance for at least three 3 years after the conclusion of the program If a program is reviewed but not approved by OCPE prior to the event the sponsoring agency may appeal the decision to the Advisory Committee The decision of a majority of the Committee will be final and binding Recertification credits will not
