    You are here Events at SAIS Events at SAIS MIEF Virtual Information Session The Johns Hopkins University Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies SAIS Office of Admission invites you to learn more about the Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance MIEF degree by joining an online information session Recent MIEF graduates and MIEF and Admissions staff will be present to answer your questions about the admissions process the student experience and the impact your SAIS education could have on the world This challenging 11 month full time masters program is guided by a conceptual framework that focuses on advanced economic theories and reasoning quantitative and econometrics skills and the application of these tools used to produce a research project and or policy analysis in an international setting Studying in Washington D C students move through the program in a cohort format and elect to specialize in Macroeconomics and International Finance or International Trade and Development This session will be hosted online using Adobe Connect If you have never used Adobe Connect ensure your computer and network connections are properly configured to provide you with the best possible experience beforehand http www adobe com go meeting test

  • Prospective Student Lecture: Erik Jones | SAIS
    relations issues The program is meant to be interactive and will include a question and answer session Thursday November 12 Erik Jones Erik Jones is Director of European and Eurasian Studies and Professor of European Studies and International Political Economy at the Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University He is also Senior Research Fellow at Nuffield College in Oxford United Kingdom Jones is author of The Politics of Economic and Monetary Union 2002 Economic Adjustment and Political Transformation in Small States 2008 and together with Dana Allin Weary Policeman American Power in an Age of Austerity 2012 His most recent book is a collection of short essays called The Year the European Crisis Ended 2014 He is editor or co editor of more than twenty books or special issues of journals on topics related to European politics and political economy including The Oxford Handbook of the European Union 2012 and The Oxford Handbook of Italian Politics 2015 Professor Jones teaches on topics in international and comparative political economy with a particular focus on Europe and the transatlantic relationship Professor Jones is a frequent commentator on European politics and political economy whose contributions have been published in among others Financial Times New York Times USA Today and newspapers and magazines across Europe He has written extensively on European monetary integration and macroeconomic governance and has been active in public debates about the European response to the global economic and financial crisis Professor Jones is co editor of Government and Opposition and he is a contributing editor to the Institute for International and Strategic Studies journal Survival Jones earned his AB at Princeton University 1988 and his MA and PhD at Johns Hopkins SAIS 1990 1996 Prior to joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins he
