the students to know what s going on and what their goals are Some are here for communication some are here for academics and some are here for very specialized programs like the business for global practices program There are others that are just here for one to two month programs Interacting from a wide variety of cultures is amazing The director also sees a lot of great changes at the ALI In Hilanto s opinion They have hired a lot more bilingual and trilingual staff that are from different cultures That has been a great boom because some of our students are beginning level communicators and some of the paperwork is quite complex To explain those processes you have to have somebody who has a pretty strong level of the students home language and we have that here right now and that s fantastic Many of the teachers and staff here are at least bilingual Tom is happy to be in San Diego once again and working at the ALI It is good to be home It s great to be at a place that I wanted to be at for a very long time I got to come back to my alma mater San Diego State and be part of this cultural and educational experience he adds Tags American Language Institute SDSU Tom Hilanto Comments Closed Comments are closed You will not be able to post a comment in this post ALI Program Blogs Semester SDSU Posts English for Academic Purposes Posts Intensive English for Communication Posts Business English for Global Practices Posts Social Entrepreneurship Posts Student Profiles ALI Student Profile Sofia Rodriguez 11 February 2015 11 54 PM No Comments Read More ALI Student Profile Tomomi Aoki 30 October 2014 4 38 PM No Comments Read More
