  • Student Admission Policies: Refund, Withdrawal, Privacy Rights, & Smoking Policy | Learn English | American Language Institute (ALI) | SDSU
    or the sponsor depending on the reason for withdrawal In any of the above cases the withdrawal procedure is as follows Obtain a withdrawal form from the ALI office Complete the form Attach written verification of the reason for withdrawal Return the completed form to the Program Director Tuition refunds will be granted only in cases where the withdrawal procedure has been satisfactorily completed All withdrawals are subject to 75 fee The refunds will be computed according to the following guidelines In addition please note that the ALI application fee is non refundable and tuition payment is non transferable A Programs with a duration of eight 8 or more weeks as indicated by your I 20 If a notice of intention to cancel is received and acknowledged by the ALI prior to the first day of the session the student will be refunded 100 of the tuition minus a 75 administration fee If withdrawal forms are received after the first day of the session and before 10 of class time completed from student s start date the student will be refunded 50 of tuition minus a 75 administration fee After 10 of the session has been completed from student s start date no refund is granted B Programs with a duration of seven 7 or fewer weeks No refunds will be granted C Late Arrivals Students who are given special permission to begin the term late are subject to the same policy The policy is in effect from student s first day of term as indicated by your I 20 D Dismissal A student can be dismissed at any time during the term if she he has an attendance problem behavior problem does not work up to the high standards of the Institute or does not pay tuition and fees

    transcripts and academic credentials In order to apply for Conditional Admission students must agree to the following items and complete the Conditional Admission Check List Conditional Admission through the ALI is a guaranteed admission to SDSU upon completion of English language study at the ALI Conditional Admission requires a full evaluation by the SDSU Office of Admissions based on official transcripts and academic credentials Students must complete the evaluation process within 60 days of applying for Conditional Admission and submitting the ALI online application Conditional Admission requires a high school GPA of 3 0 or higher on a 4 point scale Processing time is approximately four weeks from the time the ALI Admissions Office has confirmed receipt of required official documents transcripts graduation certificate etc Conditional Admission through the ALI is only available to first time freshmen students who have completed high school prior to enrolling to SDSU and who have not had any university coursework after high school Conditional Admission is not available to students seeking an SDSU master s degree students seeking a second bachelor s degree or students with a TOEFL iBT of 80 or above or IELTS 6 5 or above Conditional Admission is not available to students who attended an English speaking high school for three or more years Students have two years to demonstrate English proficiency before enrolling in a bachelor s level degree program at SDSU For more information on Conditional Admission see Frequently Asked Questions Conditional Admission Check List The following check list is for students applying to SDSU for full Conditional Admission Undergraduate Conditional Admission to SDSU is for qualified students who want to earn an undergraduate degree but do not meet the SDSU English language proficiency requirements Conditional Admission through the ALI is not available for SDSU graduate studies students seeking a second undergraduate degree transfer students or students with an iBT TOEFL score of 80 or above or IELTS 6 5 or above Complete the Conditional Admission section of the ALI online application at ali sdsu edu apply Complete the following guidelines for sending official transcripts and academic credentials Official academic records must arrive in a sealed envelope issued from the secondary institution s or the Ministry of Education For secondary studies please send grade reports for each year of study completed i e 9 12th grade or 10 12th grade If a final diploma and or graduation certificate has been earned a certified copy must be sent for evaluation All transcripts must be original official academic records Professional English translations are required for all documents issued in the native language s Official high school transcripts and graduation certificate diploma if earned must be sent directly to the American Language Institute at American Language Institute San Diego State University 5250 Campanile Drive San Diego CA 92182 1914 You must complete the evaluation process within 60 days of applying for Conditional Admission and completing the ALI online application Admissible students will be issued a letter of Conditional Admission The ALI
