    aesthetically appealing functionality of the design depends heavily on the user experience and is considered just as heavily as the design itself she says Ricardo Vazquez Ricardo Vazquez is an award winning user interface and user experience designer based in Toronto Ontario After graduating from the University of Toronto s Visual Culture and Communication degree where he developed a passion for captivating a user s emotion and attention on the web Ricardo found the skills he needed to succeed in the industry by joining the Interactive Multimedia program now Interactive Media Management at Sheridan College Sheridan s Interactive Multimedia program gave Ricardo the confidence to tackle digital challenges head on Since graduating he has had the pleasure of working at companies such as Myplanet Digital 500px FreshBooks and Mozilla where he currently practices human centred UI UX Design His work has been featured and published on NET Magazine and Swiss Miss and has been awarded the CSS Site of the Month Award He has delivered talks at the Front End Design Conference Pycon Canada Bitmaker Labs and elsewhere Ricardo loves giving back to the community by contributing to open source projects and teaching front end design and development but his passion lies in creating beautiful and usable web experiences The most rewarding achievement of my career has been finding the balance between logic and emotion he says I would have struggled to find the latter without the preparation IMM gave me to succeed in what I consider to be the best industry in the world David Neumann David Neumann s career path to date has taken many different forms U turns full circles and zig zags David stumbled upon Sheridan s Interactive Multimedia IMM program by overhearing a conversation between two classmates who shared his curiosity in web programming Sheridan s IMM program ignited in him a passion and curiosity for emerging technology and also a passion for lifelong learning After graduating from IMM David worked as a web developer at an advertising agency in Toronto before switching paths and moving to Europe to join the creative innovation department at a prestigious advertising agency in Germany His path then led him back to Canada and back to Sheridan where he taught in the IMM program for five years David currently manages the TVO IdeaShaker Innovation Lab where he oversees a talented team of web designers and developers who are mandated to research and prototype disruptive emerging technologies in order to further TVO s goal in delivering great thought provoking content to its audiences David has been honoured with multiple awards and has been privileged to speak and present his work on many occasions including a recent presentation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT None of this would have been possible without his obsessive curiosity in everything his desire to continuously learn and the support of family friends teachers colleagues and mentors Adelle Rempel Adelle entered Sheridan s IMM program with a background in graphic design and a budding love
