    Events News Releases Sheridan in the News Events Prospective Students Current Students International Students Continuing Education Students Parents Alumni Donors Employers Home Life at Sheridan Student Services Accessible Learning Services Services Accommodations Other Services Accommodations Other Services Accommodations Please be advised that this list of services and accommodations is not automatic for every student Students who are eligible to receive accommodations will meet with Accessible Learning Services staff to determine the most appropriate accommodations and services available to meet individual needs Testing Accommodations Eligibility for extended test time scribes or readers can be determined in consultation with the Accessible Learning Advisor Counsellor Tests must be booked seven days in advance of test date through the Assessment Centre at the Hazel McCallion Davis and Skills Training Centre campus Trafalgar students should book through the Accessible Learning office Notetaking and Photocopying Notes Instructors and or students may identify note takers with the assistance of the Accessible Learning staff NCR paper is available through the Accessible Learning Office Photocopying is available as well Extended Program Reduced Program Courseload Students may reduce the number of courses they take at one time This may be arranged in consultation with the Program Coordinator Academic Advisor and Accessible Learning Interpreters and Computerized Notetaker for the Hearing Impaired Students are entitled to their choice of either Sign Language Interpreting Service or Computerized Notetaking Service This is arranged through Accessible Learning and George Brown College Canadian Hearing Society Peer Mentors Tutoring Peer Mentors for organizational issues time management etc can be arranged through Accessible Learning Tutors for content specific material can be arranged through the Career Centre https www sheridancollege ca life at sheridan student services tutoring aspx Lockers Accessible Learning has reserved lockers throughout the College Please contact our office if you require access to one of these lockers Taped Texts Alternate Format Texts Students requiring books on CD must contact Accessible Learning who will refer you to the Assistive Technologist to have your order placed for the required materials Due to copyright laws students must purchase the book and provide receipts for proof of purchase Print Enlargements Equipment for enlarging print is available at Accessible Learning Orientation Students are encouraged to participate in the college wide orientation Where required individual orientations may be arranged in conjunction with Accessible Learning Specialized Equipment Specialized equipment such as four track recorders and adaptive devices can be accessed through the Accessible Learning Office Bursary for Students with Disabilities Students must be eligible to receive OSAP in order to qualify for the bursary Forms must be approved by the Accessible Learning Advisor Counsellor or Assistive Technologist and forwarded to Financial Aid for consideration Disabled Parking For long term or permanent disabilities students must obtain a Provincial Disabled Parking Permit issued by the Ministry of Transportation Tuition Subsidy for Students with Permanent Disabilities Students registered with Accessible Learning or Counselling who require the accommodation of a reduced course load for a permanent disability as outlined by documentation may be eligible for reduced tuition
