    the CAR carefully Perform any corrections on line if needed If corrections are made allow 2 weeks for our office to receive your updated data 3 Submit documents to SJSU Approximately one to two weeks of submitting a FAFSA or a Dream Act application a message will be sent to the student s MySJSU referring students to view the Document Request letter The Document Request letter contains important information and instructions on the necessary step s to complete the financial aid process Submit documents to the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office To be considered for maximum funding all requested financial aid documents must be submitted by 4 30 pm on the deadline date indicated in the Document Request letter Log into MySJSU In the Student Center view your To Do List for documents to submit Make copies of all completed documents prior to submitting them and make sure your SJSU ID number is listed on all documents Submit documents by mail or in person By Mail Financial Aid and Scholarship Office One Washington Square San Jose Ca 95192 0036 In Person Financial Aid and Scholarship Office Student Services Center 9th and San Fernando Streets 1st floor of the north parking garage 4 Evaluation process and Tuition fee deferral The evaluation process begins once all requested documents are received The evaluation process can take 4 8 weeks to complete During this time additional documents may be requested Students should periodically check their MySJSU for notifications Students who submit their To Do List items by the fee deferral submission deadline date qualify for a tuition fee deferral Refer to Step 2 on your Document Request letter for detailed information and deadline date The deadline date can also be found the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office homepage The tuition fee deferral protects course enrollment and extends the tuition fee payment due date The tuition fee deferral allows time for disbursement of financial aid to apply to fees see step 6 below The tuition fee deferral is temporary and is removed the second week of the semester Once the tuition fee deferrals are removed students are responsible to pay fees by the next payment period regardless of their financial aid status The tuition fee deferral does not defer housing charges Refer to University Housing Services for payment requirements 5 Award notification Once the evaluation process is completed students will receive an Award Notice in their MySJSU It is important to thoroughly read the Award Notice View your financial aid award by going to MySJSU Student Center Under the Finances section click on view financial aid and select the corresponding aid year Financial aid is based on full time enrollment Students planning to enroll in less than full time MUST complete the Student Information Update form pdf Financial aid may be pro rated if enrolled in less than full time Failure to submit this form will delay disbursement of aid 6 Disbursement of Aid Financial aid disbursement occurs on a weekly basis beginning the first
