    Open University students are not eligible for federal student aid Applying Re Applying for Financial Aid The application process begins every year on January 1 The priority filing date is March 2 Applications can still be submitted after the priority filling date however funding may be limited Make sure to complete the appropriate application corresponding to the academic year of attendance For instance FAFSA 2015 16 corresponds to fall 2015 spring 2016 Applicants may use an estimated income on their FAFSA if their federal tax return will not be completed by the priority filing date Also when completing the FAFSA use your legal name as it appears on your social security card New Applicants Students who have never applied for financial aid Obtain a U S Department of Education PIN This PIN will serve as your electronic signature when completing your online FAFSA Federal Student Aid FSA will email you with your PIN information and steps for using your PIN NOTE On April 26 2015 a new login process will be implemented to access FAFSA on the web NSLDS Student Access StudentLoans gov StudentAid gov and the TEACH grant websites There is nothing you need to do before the change Notification of the new process will be provided to you upon logging into these websites on April 26 Go to the FAFSA website to learn about the FAFSA process and complete the application on line Or download and complete a paper version of the FAFSA Renewal Applicants Students who have previously applied for financial aid If you lost or forgot your PIN you can request a duplicate PIN Complete your FAFSA online by selecting the application pertaining to the academic year of attendance Or download and complete a paper version of the FAFSA View the following links for additional information
