    remediation in the summer before their first semester The purpose of the program is to help students complete their remedial course requirements within the one year limit allowed by the CSU Students are only required to begin remediation they are not required or even expected to complete a full semester of remedial coursework during the summer Nevertheless many students make significant gains and some complete remediation entirely through Early Start One provision of the ESP mandate states that students who do not satisfy their Early Start requirement shall be withdrawn from the university or otherwise sanctioned pending the outcome of an appeals process SJSU students who do not satisfy their Early Start requirement will be placed on Administrative Academic Probation AAP for the fall semester of their freshman year Students on AAP may not enroll in any spring coursework until they have passed their fall remedial classes Upon passing their fall remedial classes students will be removed from AAP and may enroll in spring coursework Students on AAP who fail any of their fall remedial classes will be disenrolled from SJSU before the spring semester through Administrative Academic Disqualification Disqualified students wishing to return to the university must reapply as upper division transfer students in their junior year Early Start students attending SJSU in the fall including those who are fulfilling their Early Start requirement at another CSU campus must enroll in Early Start classes that end on or before Friday August 7 Those who do not enroll in Early Start classes as well as those who enroll but receive a grade of 0 indicating that they have not completed the requirement will be placed on AAP as described above Those wishing to appeal this decision must file petition by Tuesday September 8 using the Early Start Noncompliance Appeals Petition

    preparatory coursework Why did SJSU implement program specific coursework criteria for these programs SJSU has determined that the completion of program specific coursework or an Associate Degree for Transfer ADT as approved in our impaction plan and listed on our Supplemental Criteria for Transfer Applicants pages will support successful completion of these degree programs and timely graduation The programs that will give preference to applicants who have met supplemental criteria fall into two categories Supplemental Criteria for Transfer Applicants Program Specific Coursework Programs that have identified lower division preparatory courses as supplemental criteria and will rank students based on a combination of the number of program specific preparatory courses completed and self reported GPA For example an applicant who has completed one or more of the courses associated with a program listed here will be given preference over other applicants who have the same GPA Similarly if two applicants have completed the same number of program specific preparation courses preference will be given to the applicant with the higher GPA Supplement Criteria for Transfer Applicants Associate Degree for Transfer ADT Programs that have identified an Associate Degree for Transfer as supplemental criteria will give preference to applicants who have completed

    Instagram Navigate BACK to Impaction for Undergraduate Admission Help Guide Supplemental Application Program Specific Coursework Transfer Applicants Only Impaction Results Previous Terms Supplemental Application for Transfer New for Fall 2016 Admission Beginning Fall 2016 all applicants for transfer will be required to complete a supplemental application including grades for all coursework completed in Fall 2015 and all coursework that will be completed by the end of Spring 2016 The supplemental application will be assigned through students MySJSU Student Center the week of January 4 Applicants will have about three weeks to submit the supplemental application Any transfer applicant who wishes to be considered for admission for Fall 2016 must complete and submit the supplemental application by the deadline posted to his or her MySJSU To Do List Applicants who do not complete the supplemental application by the deadline risk the withdrawal of their application for Fall 2016 For more information about the way that this information will be considered for admission and a list of major specific coursework please see Program Specific Supplemental Coursework section Questions about the Supplemental Application can be answered by consulting our help guide SJSU Links and Resources Information for Alumni Current Students Donors Faculty Staff

    EOP S are two entirely different programs If you are a returning EOP SJSU student or a CSU transfer with enrollment please contact EOP directly for application recertification information prior to the EOP Application deadline You have must have been enrolled as an EOP student at the start of your CSU undergraduate program in order to be eligible for EOP at another CSU EOP Recommendation Form Deadlines Fall admission February 1 Spring admission October 1 You must have two 2 recommendation forms submitted on your behalf to complete your EOP application It is the applicants responsibility to follow up with the recommenders to ensure the recommendations were submitted you may check the status of your recommendation requests letters submitted through the CSUMentor application manager when you receive a confirmation e mail of a recommendation letter that has been submitted on your behalf be sure to save that e mail and any other communication you receive during the application process If a recommender cannot provide the recommendation by the stated appropriate deadline for the term the applicant should ask another qualified person not a family member nor a friend to submit a recommendation on their behalf Letters of Recommendation should be submitted online via CSU Mentor Paper recommendations will only be accepted if they are on the CSU Recommendation Form Letters submitted on letterhead will not be accepted Recommendations received after the stated appropriate deadline for the term will NOT be accepted EOP FAFSA CA Dream Act Application Priority Deadlines Fall admission February 1 Spring admission October 1 The FAFSA and the CA Dream Act application periods are open from January 1 March 2 every year for fall admission in order to receive the best financial aid that you are eligible for you are highly encouraged to submit your FAFSA or CA Dream Act application as early as possible The FAFSA is required for all EOP applicants for any application period AB540 students must fill out the CA Dream Act Application instead of the FAFSA Priority consideration for EOP application processing will be given to those with their FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application complete and submitted by February 1 for fall admission and by no later than October 1 for spring admission The final deadline for the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application is March 2 for fall admission in order to be considered for EOP AB540 Students AB540 Tuition Exemption Form This form is to be used if you do not meet the residency requirements but have attended a California high school for a minimum of three years and have graduated from CA high school Please see California High School Non resident Waiver Guidelines for more information AB540 students are eligible to apply for EOP beginning with the Fall 2013 term You must have the AB540 exemption form on file with the university in order to verify your status Prospective AB540 students must Apply to SJSU via CSUMentor for fall admission by November 30 or by August 31 for
