    since 1998 He was originally selected to develop curricula and teach an Advanced Digital Audio Production class featuring Pro Tools radio production where students earned Avid s Pro Tools 101 110 certification Since then Mr Abrams has been teaching radio and television programming and production classes at SJSU and at many Community Colleges in the Bay Area His current assignment at SJSU is as a lecturer for RTVF 20 Beginning Audio and RTFV 120 Intermediate Audio He has published scholarly research on current practices of the use of web tools and digital media by local radio stations which program and market to young adult audiences Besides lecturing at SJSU Mr Abrams has fulfilled many roles in broadcasting including a 27 year stint as the Production Director at KBLX FM in San Francisco In that capacity he was an on air announcer and voiced recorded and produced commercials station promos and other content on a variety of digital and analog platforms His prior professional experience includes work at radio and television stations in the San Francisco Bay Area the California Central Coast and Texas Mr Abrams has also been a legacy board member of the San Francisco local of SAG AFTRA

    on the tolerance mechanisms induced in response to infection It is intriguing how despite common microbial recognition molecules some microbes are able to reside within our organs evading detection by the immune system others trigger a strong immune response that may harm both the microbe and the host and yet others can be tolerated by the immune system such that they thrive in our body while causing chronic disease The organs exposed to the external environment are lined with mucosal tissue and are constantly in direct contact with microbes The mucosa comprise a specialized network of immune and residential cells that together sustain the mucosal immunity In my research lab we study two aspects of mucosal immunity one triggered by a pathogen in the airway and the other autoimmune triggered inflammation in the gut a Immunity in respiratory tract Bordetella pertussis a highly contagious human respiratory pathogen that triggers a prolonged disease with fatal outcomes in infants We are particularly interested in the strategies applied by these bacteria such that the adaptive immune response is diverted to tolerate the infection for prolonged periods of time a Detection of circulating immune cells with gut homing surface molecules as a tool to

    a DMA from the University of North Texas Her primary trumpet instructors have included Keith Johnson Fred Mills Sean Priest and Kevin Johnston Dr Adduci has performed and taught throughout the world She has appeared with numerous orchestras in Australia including as a soloist with the highly regarded groups the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra as well as performing with professional orchestras in Malaysia Canada and the United States She was a guest artist at the 2009 International Trumpet Guild Conference in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and was a guest clinician and panel member at the 2010 International Trumpet Guild Conference in Sydney Australia where she performed with James Morrison and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra She has recorded a CD of trumpet and piano works called A Trumpet Kaleidoscope and recently recorded a CD as the featured soloist on the baroque trumpet with the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado to be released in late 2012 Her solo performances have been broadcast on Colorado Public Radio and on ABC Australia Radio Dr Adduci is highly regarded for her work with historical instruments She has been described as a rare treat a highly skilled trumpeter Denver Post her playing described as flawless elegant delicate as that of a flute yet with all the power and color of brass SanDiego com She has performed with numerous period instrument groups in North America including the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra American Bach Soloists San Francisco Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra Toronto Apollo s Fire Cleveland Portland Baroque Orchestra Oregon Musica Angelica Los Angeles Atlanta Baroque Orchestra Georgia Texas Camerata Fort Worth and the Orchestra of New Spain Dallas While at the University of North Texas she taught the baroque and the modern trumpet and was the director of the UNT Baroque Trumpet Ensemble She can be
