    Student Services Financial Services Student Organizations Disability Services Multicultural Affairs and Outreach Contact Us Vincent C Immel Law Library FACULTY STAFF Faculty Adjunct Faculty Emeritus Faculty Full time Faculty Library Faculty Staff Faculty and Staff Resources STUDENTS Current Students Prospective Students Student Organizations Student Life SLU Zone Planet Sub Papa John s Mississippi Mud Coffee Medina Flamingo Bowl Drunken Fish Caruso s Deli Bella s Frozen Yogurt Cafe Smoothie King Home Academics Degree Programs Dual Degree Programs Dual Degree Programs SLU LAW offers dual degree programs in partnership with several schools within the University Dual degree programs are designed to allow students to obtain two degrees in significantly less time 4 5 years depending upon the degree than if the degrees were obtained separately The dual degree student must meet the admissions criteria for both the School of Law and the school from which the doctoral or master s degree is sought Application for both should be made either at the same time or during the student s first year of enrollment in the School of Law Dual degree students are required to complete a minimum of 82 hours in the School of Law The School of Law has established 11 dual degree programs In addition the School of Law will consider fashioning a dual degree program to meet individual student interest Juris Doctor and Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Ethics Juris Doctor and Master of Accounting Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Political Science Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Public Administration Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Law and Sociology Anthropology Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Urban Planning and Development Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration Juris Doctor and Master of Health Administration Juris Doctor and Master of Public Health Health

    SLU Zone Planet Sub Papa John s Mississippi Mud Coffee Medina Flamingo Bowl Drunken Fish Caruso s Deli Bella s Frozen Yogurt Cafe Smoothie King Home Academics Degree Programs Dual Degree Programs J D Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Ethics Juris Doctor and Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Ethics J D Ph D students earn both the Juris Doctor degree and a doctoral degree in Health Care Ethics after roughly five years of full time study A major benefit of this dual degree format is that students obtain both degrees more quickly than if obtained separately J D Ph D students must complete a minimum of 121 credits 85 credits of law course work including a three hour course in Directed Research six hours of courses in the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics that students apply toward their law degree and an additional 30 hours in Ph D coursework in the areas of biotechnological medical organizational or research ethics before completing a doctoral dissertation Following graduation form the School of Law the dual degree student would complete the required course work in the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics It is anticipated that this will require an additional two semesters Comprehensive exams and the researching and writing of the doctoral dissertation would take approximately an additional two to three semesters In all students should finish both degrees in approximately five years After completing the dual degree program a diverse array of professional opportunities exist Graduates are expected to find rewarding positions in academic clinical and corporate positions Students wishing to enter the J D Ph D program must fulfill all admission requirements for the School of Law and the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics They must apply to each separately Students may apply

    Adjunct Faculty Emeritus Faculty Full time Faculty Library Faculty Staff Faculty and Staff Resources STUDENTS Current Students Prospective Students Student Organizations Student Life SLU Zone Planet Sub Papa John s Mississippi Mud Coffee Medina Flamingo Bowl Drunken Fish Caruso s Deli Bella s Frozen Yogurt Cafe Smoothie King Home Academics Degree Programs Dual Degree Programs J D Master of Arts in Urban Planning and Development Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Urban Planning and Development The School of Law and Center for Sustainability offer a J D M A in Urban Planning and Development The Master s in Urban Planning and Development will help students understand the complex world of urban development from both the public and private sectors and develop professional competencies in spatial and policy analysis real estate finance and communication across diverse audiences Pairing a law degree with an urban planning and development degree creates a highly relevant and valuable combination in the local national and global economy Students complete their required first year core curriculum in the School of Law Thereafter students may begin the Urban Planning and Development program in addition to their law studies Students will complete the two degrees in four or four and one half years The dual program ordinarily will require students to complete a total of 115 118 hours of course work 82 hours in the School of Law and 33 36 hours in the Center for Sustainability to satisfy the requirements of the two programs Of the 91 hours required for the J D degree nine hours are satisfied by completion of Urban Planning courses To request law course credit for these nine hours students must complete the Request for Dual Degree Non Law Credits to be Applied to School of Law Transcript form Twelve hours of law
