  • Springfield College Hosts 2015 NIRSA Championship Series Flag Football Regional Championships | Springfield College
    11 03 12 59 The Springfield College Campus Recreation Department will host the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association NIRSA Championship Series Flag Football Regional Championships on the campus from Nov 6 through Nov 8 This will be the seventh consecutive year that Springfield College hosts the event which features 20 teams from 16 different higher education institutions from throughout the east coast Springfield College is one of only two institutions on the entire east coast to host an event like this said Tournament Director Eric Wojo Wojtowicz There are a total of 12 regional sites throughout the country that host NIRSA Flag Football Championship events We have to put a bid in to NIRSA every year to host this event and we have been very fortunate to have been approved each of the last seven years due in large part to our involvement with NIRSA but also due in large part to the great facilities we have at Springfield College Springfield College will be well represented with three teams participating in the event with the majority of the games being played at the Irv Schmid Sports Complex Teams also will have the opportunity to compete on the turf at Stagg Field Along with the participating teams the tournament features more than 40 students and staff members from 20 separate institutions assisting with the officiating and the overall game day operations for the competition Champions of the individual regional events will have the opportunity to compete at the National Championships hosted at the University of West Florida in Pensacola Florida from Jan 2 through Jan 4 Follow live twitter updates of the event at FlickFlackSays MrBoston WOJO16 NIRSAChamp SCCampusrec SpringfieldFFB NIRSAFlag NIRSAlive NIRSARegion1 and IMStrong Founded in 1885 Springfield College is known worldwide for the guiding principles of its Humanics philosophy
