interested in becoming part of a thriving industry where they will help people improve their health or work to prevent chronic disease The goal of this program is to prepare students to develop implement and evaluate best practices for promoting health and reducing the impact of chronic diseases in people There are two program tracks Clinical Exercise Physiology Designed for students with varied undergraduate backgrounds including biological sciences exercise science physical education nursing and others This is the only program in Massachusetts accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs CAAHEP as well as being one of only four CAAHEP accredited programs in the United States Students will learn to perform clinical exercise tests and design exercise prescriptions for individuals with a variety of diseases including cardiovascular pulmonary metabolic etc This track prepares students for the registered clinical exercise physiologist exam Health Promotion Designed for students with varied undergraduate backgrounds including exercise science health education physical education nursing rehabilitation psychology and others Springfield College has been awarding master s degrees in health promotion for more than 25 years Students will learn to design implement and evaluate health promotion programs in a variety of
