    Academic Progress Program is designed to provide assistance and support to help improve academic skills performance and standing for the students on academic warning and academic probation including continued academic probation Students with the Academic Standing Status of academic alert are also encouraged to participate in the Academic Progress Program Students on academic warning and academic probation are assigned to an ASC staff member based on their class year First year students will work with the First Year Success Coordinator and all students in upper class years will work with the Director of the Academic Success Center The Academic Progress Program offers An important and detailed letter from the assistant vice president for academic affairs explaining the student s academic standing and its consequences An academic progress orientation session at the start of the semester Meetings with an academic success mentor every week to assist with time management and study skills and to monitor academic progress An initial academic assessment appointment Academic Progress Orientation Sessions The Academic Progress Program will offer two orientation sessions at the beginning of the semester These sessions are designed to give students an overview of the program and opportunities to ask questions become familiar with various academic resources and set appointments concerning academic standing with College administrators and staff Students will be provided An overview of the wide ranging services and programs offered by the Academic Success Center An explanation of the academic coaching process and a chance to submit preferred days and times for weekly coaching sessions An opportunity to set an initial academic assessment with the either the Director of the Academic Success Center or the First Year Success Coordinator A summary from the Academic Advising Center of the course repeat policy and the need to design an appropriate course schedule for the

    IX Veterans Resources Athletics News Search Springfield College Submit Alumni Faculty Staff Current Students Prospective Students Give to Springfield College Directions Directory PrideNET Academic Success Center Assistive Technology Program and Adaptive Workstation Section Menu Academic Success Center Academic Success Center Math Science Support Services Writing Support Services Students With Disabilities Individualized Academic Programs Academic Coaching Program Academic Progress Program Assistive Technology Program Content Tutorial Program Conversation Partners Program MTEL Assistance Program Staff Academic Success Center Tutors FAQs Assistive Technology Program and Adaptive Workstation The Assistive Technology Program provides a range of assistive technology software and is available to students faculty and staff Students may use this assistive technology for specific accommodative testing or study purposes Although this technology is available to all students first priority will be given to students with documented disabilities Trainings and workshops are available by appointment by contacting Vicki Anderson at 413 748 3724 or vanderso springfieldcollege edu The primary location of these software programs is the Academic Success Center with additional assistive technology workstations in the Open Lab of Babson Library and in the Brennan Center The Adaptive Workstation located in the Academic Success Center utilizes computing equipment to assist learners of all backgrounds and abilities with their academic endeavors Dragon Naturally Speaking Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speech recognition program which allows users to dictate and have their words immediately transcribed onto the screen and document A dictation playback capability allows users to play back a recording of what they said in their own voice This program may be especially beneficial to students with learning disabilities and physical disabilities Kurzweil 3000 Kurzweil 3000 is scanning software with speech output This unique program allows students to scan pages or even chapters of text into the computer and then have the scanned pages read back to
