    Menu News News 2014 Headlines 2013 Headlines Springfield College Campus Community Participates in GivingTuesday Tue 2015 12 01 15 39 The Springfield College Leadership Training Conference and Rachel s Challenge student organizations led a community outreach program that collected food clothing and school supplies for local nonprofit organizations and schools to support the global initiative GivingTuesday on Dec 1 Individuals were able to participate in GivingTuesday by donating canned food that was distributed to the Open Pantry in Springfield donating socks that were distributed to the Friends of the Homeless emergency shelter in Springfield donating school supplies that were donated to White Street Elementary School in Springfield writing on the pledge banner donating a monetary gift that will support alternative spring break trips for Springfield College students or writing thank you notes to students and Springfield College employees Drop off locations for the canned food socks and school supplies were set up throughout the campus in the Wellness Center Office of Admissions Marsh Memorial Alumni Hall basement in the Office of Marketing and Communications and Administration Building In addition Rachel s Challenge will be collecting items including blankets coats gloves hats scarves sweatshirts mittens socks and earmuffs in designated Warm A Heart containers located in residence halls from Nov 23 through Dec 3 These items can be new or gently used GivingTuesday is a global movement that encourages individuals to give back to the local community and celebrate generosity For more information visit givingtuesday org or springfield edu givingtuesday follow the Springfield College efforts on Twitter at SCGivingTue or utilize the social media hashtag givingtuesday Founded in 1885 Springfield College is known worldwide for the guiding principles of its Humanics philosophy educating students in spirit mind and body for leadership in service to others With its foundation of academic excellence

    Students Prospective Students Give to Springfield College Directions Directory PrideNET Student Life Spiritual Life Services Section Menu Spiritual Life Services Contact Information Newman Community Springfield College Hillel Fellowship of Christian Athletes Useful Links and Resources Student Volunteer Programs Services Springfield College Spiritual Life seeks to promote the spiritual growth of all members of the Springfield College community Spiritual Life provides opportunities for discussion reflection meditation worship and engaged social action The services offered go to the heart of the mission of Springfield College to educate students in spirit mind and body for leadership in service to humanity To this end the department initiates programs and works collaboratively with students faculty and staff from various organizations and departments across the college The goal of Spiritual Life is to foster reflective thought and effective action The following lists some of the specific services offered by Spiritual Life at Springfield College Please visit the Spiritual Life Center contact information page for additional information Pastoral Counseling Spiritual Life provides pastoral counseling for students faculty and staff While the associate ministers represent specific traditions they are prepared and equipped to serve the whole campus community All are welcome in the Spiritual Life Center and all will find comfort and support Spiritual Development Whatever one s spiritual background the Spiritual Life Center provides resources and support ranging from study groups campus events and cocurricular activities one on one counseling and spiritual direction and networking with local and regional spiritual centers and religious organizations Volunteer Opportunities Spiritual Life works with organizations locally nationally and internationally to provide students with opportunities to put their beliefs into effective action in service of humanity Advocacy The department works on behalf of the Springfield College community to raise awareness of spiritual religious and social justice issues on and off campus Visiting
