    office 460 223 by the specified deadline for Winter 2014 15 the deadline is Monday November 3rd Students will be notified of decisions in early December Students who have already completed a Levinthal may not apply for a second one Download Levinthal Application The Mohr and Stein Visiting Writers Each year the Creative Writing Program welcomes two distinguished guests to teach a Stanford writing seminar to undergraduates one in poetry and the other in fiction These unique classes are kept small limited to no more than 15 students and they focus on a subject of the writer s expertise and choosing The writer also holds a public reading and discussion This year we welcome author Joyce Carol Oates a nd poet Louise Glück during Winter quarter to teach respectively English 190V Reading for Writers and English 192V The Occasions of Poetry These seminars are made possible with the generous support of Lawrence and Nancy Mohr and Isaac and Madeline Stein Download Mohr Application 192V Download Stein Application 190V Four Minute Reading Series The Four Minute Reading Series is held four times a year and features undergraduate writers along with Stegner Fellows Each writer reads four minutes of their fiction poetry or nonfiction creating a lively and fast moving literary event Poet s House Come to the Poet s House with paper and pen and leave with five poems Led by our Jones lecturers the Poet s House takes on a different topic each week Students are provided with a free meal guided through exercises and supported with a friendly and open group of fellow writers The Poet s House is open to all undergraduates regardless of major or experience level The Art of Writing Come study the Art of Writing in intensive fun hands on workshops with the dynamic faculty
