    to a year long project titled The Velolab At the same time I served as resident artist and lab assistant in the Department of Ecology Evolution and Behavior at the University of Minnesota while enrolled in the college of biological sciences At Pomona I focused on projects that explored interdisciplinary hybridized pockets of knowledge and often involved intensive fabrication processes I ve been deeply influenced by professor Michael O Malley s investigations of the intersection of Art Craft and Technology and by Mark Allen s curatorial practice for Machine Project in Los Angeles My thesis project Circulus consisted of a wooden bicycle track that was designed and built to occupy an empty campus library allowing cyclists to circumvent the room once every five seconds After schoool I operated a food truck business in the Hudson Valley of New York After developing experience building wood fired ovens in the southern Italian tradition I fabricated an oven for my food service venture constructing a custom mobile kitchen and mounting the oven inside a UPS truck TRUCK Pizza continues to operate successfully in Hudson NY Current At Stanford I ve focused on a wide spectrum of design work Examples include creative consulting for a food delivery start up to experience design for a mythological adventure created for venture capitalists to the fabrication of lighting systems baking tools and a bicycle frame I enjoyed an awesome summer in 2014 as a wildcard intern at IDEO in Palo Alto My design thesis will explore environment design for the non profit MAPS an organization spearheading an effort to legalize psychedelic drugs for use by therapists who are treating patients with a variety of maladies including post traumatic stress disorder substance addiction severe social anxiety and end of life anxieties related to terminal illness When I m

    Video About Daniel Chávez Ontiveros was born and raised in Mexico City He studied Media Communication Science at the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ITESM CCM where he discovered his passion for audiovisual storytelling Later on he was accepted at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematograficos CUEC UNAM where he studied a very intensive program in Filmmaking During these years he participated in the making of diverse fiction and documentary films developing skills on direction cinematography edition writing sound design and film production He has directed several short films that have been screened in diverse cultural venues around Mexico In addition two of his short films Toucan 2013 and Milo s animals 2014 have won prizes at the Hazlo en Cortometraje Film Festival a festival that promotes environmental sustainability and ecological culture In 2013 he started his own audiovisual company named Think Films which is primarily dedicated in making documentaries for non profit organizations such as Oxfam Save the Children and Marie Stopes These documentaries are focused on topics such as worldwide migration protection of human rights and wilderness preservation Work Still life Working Title Jun 2015 I am Ayotzinapa Mar 2015 Born Fighter Dec 2014 Contact Email
