    librarians and their peers as they develop research topics The Ace s Place Café in addition to offering sustenance to students and faculty offers flexible space The booths are currently being used both for 1 1 and small group meetings between students and faculty faculty and student groups are also holding seminar style classes in the space pushing tables together to create a more intimate teaching space with immediate access to both print and electronic resources Phase Three Anticipated Completion Summer 2014 Phase three of the library includes enhancements and renovations to our existing technology classroom to create a state of the art instruction and study space for our students and faculty that supports a 21 st century research teaching and learning community Continuing the design concepts introduced during Phase II with Ace s Place we seek to renovate the existing library classroom space to provide our faculty and students with a collaborative classroom setting where faculty can encourage students to access library materials for immediate feedback from the faculty librarians and their peers as they discuss course lessons and develop research topics Incorporated into this space will be advanced technology features and moveable furnishings that allow our students to better connect with library resources staff and each other Through institutional commitment Stonehill has completed the first two phases of this library renovation and has started the initial architectural design and development stage of phase three We recently hired SGA Architecture to develop a 2D concept a 3D rendering and a short write up that describes the project We now respectfully seek a grant from the George I Alden Trust to accomplish the remainder of phase three A committee of students faculty and staff met regularly during the fall 2012 semester to outline the project scope and needs with the following results Instructor Workstation and Projection An accessible workstation that can provide instructors with a space to sit or stand during presentations and to project their work in a clearly visible way e g one or two screens with the ability to display a variety of content in high quality video resolution and high quality sound Student Workstations and Projection of Student Work A seating configuration so all students can see what is being projected and instructors can easily walk around to see what students are working on with seating flexibility that allows for collaborative work easily shifting from small group to lecture modality Student workstations should also allow for quick and easy projection of an individual student s work as an example to the class as well as provide room for students to spread out print resources while they are also working online Instructor Student Board Work The ability to highlight illustrate particular content by hand through ample whiteboard space Ability for students to create flexible defined spaces within the larger room to enhance group work Student Computing Access to computers with specialized software as well as library resources e g the catalogue and internet access that is readily

    a College We re Family Stonehill is a friendly caring place where people are embraced for being themselves More than 90 percent of students live on campus helping each other meet challenges and find success Welcome Home Community Global Engagement The Martin Institute for Law Society The Center for Nonprofit Management The Farm at Stonehill The Carole Calo Gallery H O P E Service Immersion Program Community Service Post Graduate Service Community Based Learning The Life You Change Will Be Your Own Changing the world might seem like a daunting goal but it s something Stonehill students do every day in ways big and small Athletics Recreational Sports NCAA Athletics Recreational Sports A Tradition of Athletic Excellence The Stonehill Skyhawks compete in the Northeast 10 Conference the largest NCAA Division II conference in the country Home News Media The History of Jim Kenneally The History of Jim Kenneally December 29 2015 Stonehill Social Media For the Media Emergencies Stonehill Alumni Magazine Barbara Sullivan Janelli 72 The Charity Guild Newsletter When I first met fellow board member Jim Kenneally he was teaching a newly developed course The History of the Black Man in America at Stonehill College more than 40 years ago It was an interesting and timely course for the early 1970s He quickly became my favorite professor He was interesting intelligent and inclusive as a professor and as I learned many years later he is the same away from the lecture hall Jim has been distributing food every Wednesday at The Charity Guild food pantry for the last 10 years He first heard of the Guild from St Patrick s parish when he inquired about donating his recently deceased brother in laws clothes Past president Mari Jo Martin gave him a tour of the thrift shop and food pantry and asked if he would like to volunteer He has missed very few Wednesdays since When I asked him what makes him continue week after week he replied I find it rewarding It makes me realize how fortunate I am He also enjoys the comradery of fellow volunteers Roy LeBlanc and Joe Ritucci Volunteering in the food pantry is not the only volunteer work Jim does for The Guild As a board member Jim handles the Memorial Fund He revised the employee handbook with board members Pegge Lange and Susan Nicastro He is currently working on the history of how The Charity Guild came to be in the early 1970s He is calling former Guild members for an oral history as well as looking through decades of old records to get the story right Jim has always believed in helping his community and his country He joined the Air National Guard in 1951 and was on active duty during the Korean Conflict and in Germany during the building of the wall dividing East and West Berlin He proudly served in the Air National Guard for 33 years Believing in an open and frank dialogue between people of different faiths and
