Established in 2009 by Edward P and Gloria M Casieri with a wish to award the scholarship to student s who reside in Brockton If a student doesn t fit this criterion it is their wish to provide the scholarship to student s from the Greater Brockton area The Cavanagh Family Scholarship Established in 2000 on the occasion of the retirement of Mr Richard E Cavanagh from the position of director of Buildings and Grounds after tenure of 20 years through the generosity of family friends and associates Endowed in perpetuity the Cavanagh Family Scholarship is awarded annually to an academically Smith 62 in honor of longtime Stonehill administrator and faculty member C James Cleary who served as seventh president of the College Awarded annually to a financially needy and academically qualified student planning a career in education The Father Gerald P Cohen C S C Scholarship Established in 2000 by Stonehill College following Fr Cohen s sudden death and funded by his friends and family Father Gerald Cohen 59 was a member of the Stonehill College faculty and held the position of assistant registrar from 1966 1977 He also served on the College s Board of Trustees from 1989 1994 Beyond his formal associations with the College Fr Cohen maintained a vast range of friendships with many Stonehill people was a frequent visitor to the campus and was always an extraordinary ambassador of the College The William F Connell Memorial Scholarship Established by the late William F Connell in 1997 the Connell Scholars Program provides scholarship assistance to an academically talented and financially needy student Preference is given to graduates of St Mary s High School and Stonehill students from the greater Lynn area The Stonehill Scholarship Committee selects brother who served as Stonehill s fifth president Awarded annually to a financially needy and academically qualified student The Edward L Coughlin Memorial Scholarship Established in 2003 Awarded annually to financially deserving and academically qualified students Recipient s selected by the Stonehill Scholarship Committee The Timothy J Coughlin Memorial Scholarship Established by the family of Timothy Coughlin Class of 1980 Awarded annually to academically qualified students with demonstrated financial need who are members of the football women s lacrosse and or men s lacrosse teams Recipient selected in consultation with the Director of Athletics The Clare Regina Foley Crossley 62 and Mr Mrs David Crossley Scholarship Established in 2013 by the Estate of William David Crossley Awarded to a student with financial need who is a science major with a GPA of 2 8 or higher The Albert Cullum Memorial Teaching Scholarship In July 2003 one of Stonehill s most beloved professors Albert Cullum passed away In thanks for the tremendous impact Education Professor Cullum had on them Russell and Meghan Stamm 98 established the Albert Cullum Memorial Teaching Scholarship to honor his work and his memory at Stonehill In the years since fundraising began the Scholarship has received support from many former Education majors and minors and those involved in Theatre Arts at Stonehill Awarded annually to a financially needy Stonehill student who has completed the junior year experience pre practicum through the Education Department The Robert G Cummings 61 Memorial Scholarship Established by the Cummings family in memory of their brother Robert 61 Awarded to a single first year student who is academically talented with a demonstrated financial need Preference given to students from Plymouth MA The Darling My Brother s Keeper Scholarship Established in 2002 Awarded annually to a financially deserving and academically qualified student who is active in community service with My Brother s Keeper while at Stonehill College The scholarship recipient is selected by the College s vice president for Mission in consultation with the president of My Brother students Recipients selected by the Stonehill Scholarship Committee The Geraghty Family Irish Studies Scholarship Established by the Geraghty family in recognition of their strong family and kinship ties to Galway This scholarship is open to 1 talented students with need from Ireland who wish to pursue a Stonehill education 2 Stonehill students who wish to attend the College s Semester in Irish Studies program in Galway and 3 Stonehill students who wish to participate in the Internship in Ireland program Requires a separate application available in the Office of Student Aid and Finance The GOLD Scholarship Established in 2012 by gifts made by GOLD Graduates Of the Last Decade alumni Awarded to a rising junior or senior with a GPA of at least 3 0 demonstrated financial need and a commitment to the Stonehill Community The Alfred F and Martha Gomes Family Scholarship Established in 2001 Awarded annually by the Stonehill College Alumni Council in consultation with the Gomes Scholarship Fund Established in 2009 by John Mary Gorman Awarded to an academically qualified student s with demonstrated financial need Preference will be given to students who are graduates of
