    in at Examsoft com alabamalaw under Exam Takers Use your CWID and ExamSoft password Your account will be associated with the email address you use to register for classes many students have their crimson ua edu account listed others use their law school or undergraduate email addresses Note for Windows 10 users Windows Defender s Real Time Protection should be turned off for the exam instructions here if you have issues after an exam please bring the computer by room 132 so we can resolve the issue For Spring Exams If you already have ExamSoft installed from the previous fall you do not need to download it again you will only need to download the exam files by clicking the Download Exams button logging in and downloading the exam for each class For questions about your ExamSoft account or help getting your laptop ready please email help law ua edu or drop by room 132 Before the exam Update your computer Examsoft will slow down considerably if your computer tries to update it s software during your exam Make sure your computer is virus free Download the installer and step through the install process Start SofTest and download the exams you plan to take on your computer At the time of the exam Choose the correct course from the available exams Enter your anonymous number and the password provided the password will only work for that course s exam You will be prompted to upload the exam after it is complete If your computer freezes Restart the computer you can hard reset it by holding down the power button and then turning it back on ExamSoft will start back up at the most recent automatic backup If your exam doesn t successfully upload immediately after the exam Please wait a

    As a second year law student you are invited to try out for the Law Schools intercollegiate trial advocacy competition teams Our focus is on jury trials not appellant arguments Our teams conduct full trials against teams from other law schools These trials are before Judges with juries of practicing lawyers In recent years we have competed in courthouses in Chicago Los Angeles Dallas Miami Atlanta New Orleans and others Alabama s trial teams consistently earn recognition as some of the best in the nation To be a part of this tradition and to be a advocate on one of Alabama s trial teams you must participate in the trial team tryouts and be selected to the Competition Class What will I learn on the trial team The trial team is a skills developing experience for students interested in being courtroom lawyers Team members learn how to develop a winning case theory make persuasive opening statements and closing arguments examine different types of witnesses and how to effectively use the rules of evidence The jury trial is the most powerful tool in the American judicial system With a jury trial life liberty and property can be taken away or preserved If standing in front of a jury is in your future you need to join Alabama s trial team How are the team members selected Several days before the tryout a case file will be posted on the law school s web page The case file will contain all the facts and law necessary for a closing argument Each student will present a closing argument to a jury of current and former trial team members and team coaches Logic common sense and basic public speaking skills are the keys to the tryout Twenty students will be selected from the tryouts
