  • KTC Advisory Board | Kentucky Transportation Center
    Center Advisory Board was established by the Kentucky General Assembly in 1984 The Board s purpose is to assist with policy formation and to provide direction to the Center The Board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor with the following representatives the Secretary of the Transportation Cabinet the State Highway Engineer the Dean of the College of Engineering one member each from a list submitted by the Kentucky Association of Counties the Kentucky County Judge Executives Association and the Kentucky League of Cities and three members at large The Secretary of Transportation serves as chair and the Board meets semi annually at a minimum Board meetings primarily concern policy matters relating to the Center s technical assistance research programs and financial plans Current Board members are Mike Hancock Secretary Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Chairperson Steve Waddle State Highway Engineer Kentucky Transportation Cabinet John Y Walz Dean College of Engineering University of Kentucky Henry Branham Clark County Judge Executive Kentucky Association of Counties Stan Holmes MSC Ventures LLC Kentucky League of Cities Gary W Moore Boone County Judge Executive Kentucky County Judge Executive Association Marwan A Rayan Retired At Large Member Clint Ray Goodin Vaughn and Melton Consulting Engineers At

    News Contact Us Staff Page KTC History 1941 The Kentucky Highway Department established a Division of Research which was located on University of Kentucky s campus The initial focus was primarily on materials research 1979 UK s Board of Trustees created the Kentucky Transportation Center at UK 1980 The Kentucky Department of Transportation abolished the Division of Research and directed UK to assume the Department s research functions 1988 The

    News Contact Us Staff Page Message from The Director In 2010 I was selected to serve as Director of the Kentucky Transportation Center I have had the privilege of serving under four previous Directors Jim Havens Bob Deen Calvin Grayson and Paul Toussaint Those gentlemen along with their predecessors and the many staff faculty and students who have served this organization over the past 70 years have built an outstanding legacy of research excellence world class technology transfer and exemplary customer service My intent as Director is to grow and enhance that legacy We will celebrate the accomplishments of the past but we will not rest on them I firmly believe that our best days are ahead of us To guide our efforts in moving forward we have developed a collective Vision for where we want to be in the year 2015 Using that Vision as a target we are currently developing our Strategic Plan for 2010 2015 It is indeed a privilege to serve the citizens of Kentucky the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet the University of Kentucky and our many other partners and clients as Director of the Kentucky Transportation Center If we can be of service to you please
