    admissions in March 2001 In that capacity she oversees all aspects of JD admissions including transfer and visitor admissions as well as administering LLM MCL and SJD admissions Beginning in 2010 Dean Zearfoss began overseeing the offices of Career Planning and Financial Aid in order to coordinate a consistent approach to employment and financial resource issues throughout students law school tenure She received her AB cum laude in psychology from Bryn Mawr College and her JD magna cum laude from Michigan Law At Michigan she was the editor in chief of the Michigan Journal of International Law and authored a note on women s rights for which she received the Eric Stein Award While at the Law School she was also a recipient of the Henry M Bates Memorial Scholarship and of the Robert S Feldman Labor Law Award and was a member of the Order of the Coif Following graduation Dean Zearfoss clerked for the Hon James L Ryan of the U S Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and then practiced labor and employment law at Pepper Hamilton LLP s Detroit office In 1999 she returned to work at the Law School as the judicial clerkship advisor

    Auditor s Office Under his leadership the Office of General Counsel has won numerous awards including being named Corporate Counsel magazine s Best Legal Department in 2006 Leitch has been profiled and quoted in several magazines including Corporate Counsel and Inside Counsel He was honored in 2011 as the overall winner of the General and In House Counsel Awards by Crain s Detroit Business has been identified as an Attorney Who Matters by Ethisphere magazine and in 2014 was named one of America s Outstanding General Counsels by The National Law Journal Immediately prior to joining Ford Leitch served in the White House as Deputy Counsel to President George W Bush In that capacity he advised the President and his staff on a variety of legal issues including issues involving national security judicial nominations legislative proposals and ethics From June 2001 through December 2002 Leitch served as chief counsel for the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked on various regulatory and national security matters in the wake of the attacks of September 2011 He is also a past deputy Assistant attorney general in the U S Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel advising the executive branch on matters of constitutional and statutory interpretation Leitch earlier served as a law clerk to U S Supreme Court Chief Justice William H Rehnquist as a law clerk to Fourth Circuit Judge J Harvie Wilkinson III and as a partner in the Washington D C law firm of Hogan Hartson L L P now Hogan Lovells where he was a member of the appellate practice group led by John G Roberts Jr He briefed and argued numerous cases in the state and federal appellate courts involving a wide variety of subject matters Leitch is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of
