    200 000 initiated members in over 950 chapters around the world Founded in 1913 Delta s expressed purpose was to promote academic excellence provide scholarships support the underserved highlight issues and provide solutions for community problems and champion the establishment of positive public policy through civic participation Delta Sigma Theta s Fort Bragg Area Alumnae Chapter FBAAC was chartered on November 16 1996 Since that time the FBAAC has supported military families in the Fort Bragg community and surrounding areas We have provided scholarships to many deserving students throughout our brief history Several years ago FBAAC became aware of the tragic incident that resulted in the death of Lisa Nicole Bryant while assigned to Fort Bragg in 1993 as a summer ROTC instructor She was truly a bright star in our midst She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in sociology She was a vivacious young army officer who earned her commission through Army ROTC At Princeton she was the vice president of her class founder and captain of the Princeton cheerleading program and a member of Delta Sigma Theta She had a promising career in service to our country that was tragically cut short An
