  • Greetings from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
    at FSU will be your Resident Assistant RA and your Orientation Leader OL These students are great resources for navigating the campus and for answering any questions or concerns Our theme this year is Broncos 101 Project Graduation Our focus is to give you the tools necessary to develop skills in scholarship leadership and service so that you may graduate as well rounded Broncos What this means is that as a Bronco we would like you to succeed academically by always striving for high academic honors assuming leadership roles and responsibilities by getting involved in different clubs and organizations and giving back to your community through dedicated service Upon arrival you will be introduced to the University s expectations and to your responsibilities as new members of our continued legacy of excellence here at FSU It is our anticipation that you as a selected group of students will demonstrate high achieving behaviors and become future leaders of the world Broncos 101 Project Graduation will prepare you to become that leader as long as you take ownership of your role in becoming active in scholarship leadership and service The Division of Student Affairs offers a supportive and stimulating environment Class of 2019 you will receive a great deal of freedom and you are expected to respond respectfully and maturely to the FSU responsibilities and the FSU Student Handbook We look forward to greeting you at our New Student Orientation on August 15 2015 The information provided will introduce you to the FSU community and provide a tentative schedule of events planned for Freshman Orientation Be sure to read the enclosed materials and make note that locations are subject to change A final schedule of events will be provided upon check in with additional tools to help you maneuver the campus Finally

    has music composing software available All lab computers have photo editing software Are library collections and resources such as catalogs research databases special collections course reserves full text electronic journals books and streaming media available online and accessible off campus The Charles W Chesnutt Library provides an automated online catalog Innovative Interfaces Inc and a selection of approximately 250 online databases For example article biographical statistical and encyclopedic databases such as Academic Search Premier American National Biography Lexis Nexis Academic Statistical Congressional and History databases Access Science The New York Times Historical and many others in all disciplines For Interlibrary Services ILLIAD the Charles W Chesnutt Library participates in a national and international network of libraries who loan their materials through OCLC Intra consortium loans are available from UNC Pembroke and UNC Wilmington who are partners with FSU in the UNC Coastal Library Consortium by placing holds on titles located in the online catalog Special collections held by the library are located in Archives They are the Charles W Chesnutt collection the James W Seabrook collection and the Rudolph Jones collection We also collect books by and about African Americans All of these materials including all of the databases are accessible from outside the library What technology resources and help are available to students with special needs There are wheelchair accessible workstations located throughout the library and the Lyons Science Annex computer lab has three workstations dedicated for exclusive use by students with disabilities These workstations are placed in an easily accessible area for wheelchair users and feature adjustable height tables Five lab computers have a screen reader software Jaws installed one in SBE 214 one in the library and three in LSA 125 In additions the library offers a long list of services to students with special needs Can
