    Guides Policies RSS Feeds Student Employment Suggestions Exhibit Charles Price at Cook Library Local artist and entrepreneur Charles Price will have two concurrent shows exhibiting paintings prints and sculptures representing his work over the course of a lifetime Price s work was figurative during his early artistic career and through the years has evolved toward the abstract The commonality across all of his art though is that it is part of a dialogue with the social environment Hand in hand with this approach Price and his wife Anita have made a significant contribution to the Hattiesburg community by renovating the Oddfellows Building which was built in 1899 in downtown Hattiesburg The building is now home to Oddfellows Gallery Hattiesburg s first museum quality gallery and event space The Cook Library Learning Commons Gallery will feature the most recent work The Tornado Series which was created just before during and after the tornado that hit Hattiesburg in February 2013 A Retrospective Exhibition will be on display in the Cook Library Art Gallery and will feature paintings and sculptures that embody the whole of Price s artistic career The two exhibits will be available for viewing June 20 September 20 2013 An
