    or Engineering Index The catalog of the Linda Hall Library lists some too From 1979 to 2000 selected papers were issued on microfiche but these are not widely held in libraries the UT Libraries do not own any Consult with a librarian before trying to request a paper via interlibrary loan because a request is not likely to be successful Proceedings of conferences since 2003 including their various topical symposia are a mix of abstracts and full papers that have been sold only on CD ROM The CDs are generally not held in libraries but may be purchased individually from the AIChE web site The AIChE Symposium Series 1971 2002 and its predecessor Chemical Engineering Progress Symposium Series 1951 71 published postprints of selected topical symposia from the AIChE meetings The Chemistry Library holds complete runs of these series at TP 1 A488 5 These papers were fully indexed in SciFinder Some meeting papers may have been revised later as articles in AIChE Journal or other journals sometimes with slightly different titles Searching for the authors in SciFinder can reveal these revisions Electrochemical Society Proceedings 2005 current The ECS Transactions can be searched or browsed for conference papers from ECS national meetings Pre 2005 The ECS published print conference proceedings until 2005 These books are individually cataloged in the Library Catalog by conference name and title under the series heading Proceedings Electrochemical Society plus a year volume number UT s holdings are mostly complete after 1988 If you have a reference to a paper such as Proc Electrochem Soc 97 12 search for this volume in the Catalog using keywords proceedings electrochemical 97 12 Other Tools Search the conference name as an author or as keywords in the Library Catalog Note Libraries catalog the name of a conference as an author not a title So a paper cited as being in Proc 12th Int Conf Widget Technol 1998 will in the catalog record for the published proceedings have its main author listed officially as International Conference on Widget Technology 12th 1998 place so that all such conferences can be listed together regardless of each one s actual title Search in WorldCat using words from the full name of the conference as a conference name query Search the paper s author s or keywords in ISI s Conference Proceedings Citation Index Science which goes back to 1990 CPCI S is part of the Web of Knowledge and can be searched in tandem with the Science Citation Index Search the paper s author s in an index database such as SciFinder Engineering Index or Google Scholar While an unpublished conference paper will probably not be indexed you might find a later journal article based on it Work in progress is often presented at conferences and then later submitted to journals Search in Google or other engine An author might have posted a copy of the paper or a slide presentation in an open repository or personal web site Proceedings com from Curran

    Act TSCA requires manufacturers including importers to submit information on the chemicals they produce domestically or import into the United States during the principal reporting year The non confidential portion of data is dated and selective EPA ChemView Chemical health and safety data received by EPA and EPA s assessments and regulatory actions for specific chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act TSCA EPA Health Environmental Research Online The HERO database indexes over 300 000 studies from the literature that the EPA has used to develop risk assessments about environmental hazards EPA High Production Volume Information System Selected health and environmental effect information on chemicals that are manufactured in exceptionally large amounts Includes some physical chemical fate and toxicity data EPA Substance Registry System The Substance Registry System SRS is the EPA s central system for information about regulated and monitored substances The system provides a common basis for identification of chemicals biological organisms and other substances listed in EPA regulations and data systems as well as substances of interest from other sources such as publications EPA Toxic Release Inventory TRI tracks the management of certain toxic chemicals that may pose a threat to human health and the environment U S facilities in different industry sectors must report annually how much of each chemical is released to the environment and or managed through recycling energy recovery and treatment There are various methods of accessing the data by search tools and downloads EPA Toxic Substances Control Act TSCA Information about TSCA can be found on the EPA s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics web site The inventory itself can be downloaded from the federal Data gov web site Note TSCA Inventory status is indicated via the CHEMLIST display in SciFinder Registry European Chemicals Agency ECHA A registry of the chemicals manufactured and imported in Europe It covers their hazardous properties classification and information on how to use them safely It is generated by industry in line with their responsibilities under the EU chemicals legislation Includes evaluated data on properties toxicology and manufacture Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals GHS GHS is an international consensus sytem for classifying and labeling hazardous chemicals The GHS is designed to streamline the hazard assessment labeling and hazard communication requirements within and between the countries that adopt it by promoting common consistent criteria for classifying chemicals according to their health physical and environmental hazards and to develop compatible labeling material safety data sheets MSDS s and other information based on those classifications ILPI NFPA Standards Full text access to the latest standards of the National Fire Protection Association via IHS NFPA Standard no 704 describes the familiar diamond signs describing hazardous contents for emergency response REACH REACH is the Regulation on Registration Evaluation Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals It entered into force on 1st June 2007 It streamlines and improves the former legislative framework on chemicals of the European Union EU SciFinder CHEMLIST Many commercially available substances listed in the CAS Registry

    Physical and Thermodynamic Properties The Design Institute for Physical Property Data DIPPR Project 801 database consists of experimental data and correlations of temperature dependent properties for over 1 800 pure chemicals mostly organic with a couple hundred inorganic as well Collected data have been evaluated correlated and checked for thermodynamic consistency From this site you can view data sets DIPPR approved property constants and regressed correlation coefficients for temperature dependent properties as well as calculate temperature dependent properties in any set of units Searchable by chemical name CAS registry number empirical and structural formulas and numeric property ranges Knovel Critical Tables This interactive site contains tables of physical solvent and thermodynamic properties The physical property tables include over 21 000 inorganic and organic compounds Some tables make use of an interactive Equation Plotter to plot thermodynamic properties as a function of temperature Data are sourced from public web sites and non copyrighted publications and reviewed by Knovel staff NIST Chemistry WebBook Reliable thermophysical and spectral data for a few thousand important compounds Much of the data is derived from prior NIST NBS publications Searchable by name CAS registry number formula molecular weight etc NIST TRC Web Thermo Tables The TRC Thermodynamic Tables database WTT offers a collection of critically evaluated thermodynamic property data for over 23 000 pure organic compounds Searchable by name segment formula and molecular weight Recommended values can be plotted Adobe Flash plugin required Reaxys A vast amount of factual data for chemical compounds derived from the historical Beilstein and Gmelin handbooks and more recently gathered from the journal and patent literature SciFinder Registry CAS has added an array of calculated and experimental property data to selected substance records in the Registry database Many types of experimental properties have also been added under a separate tab with
