    Academic Policy Committee Minutes Senate Budget Committee Minutes Senate Steering Committee Meetings and Minutes Senate Membership Senate Policies Contact Marketing Branding and Graphic Standards Logo Usage Colors Downloads Premiums Clothing Print Collateral Stylebook Typography Video Creative Materials Request Form Hobson s Support Request Form News and Ideas Staff List Professional Development Grants Types of Grants Writing Grants Submitting Grants Grant Resources News Employee Main Menu Academic Resources Assessment Administrative Governance Marketing Professional Development Academic Resources Engaging Students in the First Year Campus Coordinator Description First Year Seminar LEC 100 Seminar Policy Mission and Goals Research and Scholarship Staff Strategic Priorities Academic Matters Institutional Review Board Service Learning Study Abroad Supporting Students Virtual Teaching and Learning Center VTLC Employees Quick Links Logins Copyright Employment EM iPlan site Graphics Standards Records Management Senate Policies Trip Maker CITS Employee Assistance Office Report Waste Fraud and Abuse You are here Home For Employees Academic Resources Engaging Students in the First Year Campus Coordinator Description The Engaging Students in the First Year ESFY Campus Coordinator shall be responsible for the following Promoting the ESFY initiative on the campus Promoting active involvement in the initiative by campus administrators instructors professional staff and students including attendance at the ESFY Spring Conference the First Year Seminar Instructor Retreat and other professional development opportunities Promoting and assisting in the institutionalization of the initiative across the campus and the institution Developing collecting and disseminating information on teaching learning and student engagement and success in the first college year Teaching one section of the First Year Seminar each academic year which will earn additional compensation in accordance with typical LEC 100 compensation practices Providing professional development opportunities on campus related to the support of first year students such as brown bags on teaching first year students first year students and technology etc Coordinating the ESFY initiative on the campus Convening meetings of the campus ESFY task force or meeting with the campus committee charged with overseeing ESFY activities and programs Recruiting instructors to develop and teach First Year Seminar courses and participate in other related ESFY curricular and co curricular activities and programs Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of First Year Seminars and other related ESFY curricular and co curricular activities and programs Convening and chairing meetings of First Year Seminar instructors Assisting instructors in selecting implementing collecting and using the results from student and faculty assessments of the First Year Seminar Assisting faculty and staff in selecting implementing collecting and using the results from student staff and faculty assessments of curricular and co curricular activities and programs related to the initiative Assisting First Year Seminar instructors in developing course ideas and completing Senate documents for course approval Coordinating campus wide comprehensive planning for the following year s initiative based on the assessment results from the year before institutional priorities and campus needs Coordinating the scheduling of First Year Seminar courses and other related ESFY curricular and co curricular activities in conjunction with appropriate campus personnel Contributing to the ESFY Initiative
