  • Value of a Tree – Environmental Education

  • About – Waushara County 4-H
    new members by March 1 to have the privilege of showing at the Waushara County Fair as a 4 H junior exhibitor Youth joining after these deadlines can still participate in our many educational opportunities and 4 H club meetings throughout the year they will just need to wait until the following year to exhibit at the county fair as a 4 H member 4 H opportunities are also offered periodically in conjunction with one of the county s after school programs or summer library and other community programs For more information about our community 4 H clubs please visit the Joining 4 H page Cloverbuds and Explorers Cloverbuds is open to youth in grades K through 2 They exhibit at the county fair like older members but it is limited to seven projects The judging is held on Wednesday from 2 7 pm The projects are judged face to face with the judge All of the cloverbuds who enter receive a ribbon Explorers is for youth in grades 3 5 Their judging is also held on Wednesday from 2 7 pm and is done face to face with the judge Cloverbud and Explorer Day Camp Two day camps for Cloverbuds and Explorers are typically held one in winter and one in summer Older members and leaders chose a theme and plan games and activities of interest to members The winter camp is held at the Courthouse and the summer camp is held at Camp Lakotah A camp fee is collected If you have any questions regarding 4 H Youth Development in Waushara County please contact Barb Barker Waushara County UW Extension Courthouse 209 S St Marie PO Box 487 Wautoma WI 54982 0487 Phone 920 787 0416 Fax 920 787 0425 Email barb barker ces uwex edu Sharing is

  • Joining 4-H – Waushara County 4-H
    the summer months They currently have 24 members ranging from kindergarten through 13 th grade An interesting fact about the club is that it was organized in 1912 and is still going strong with several 2nd and 3rd generation members Some of the community service projects include Yard clean up each spring and fall Christmas card creations for the Waushara County Meals on Wheels recipients Gifts for the Community Christmas project Promotion of the dairy industry each June work at the Waushara County 4 H food stand and facilitate a yearly car wash and donate the proceeds to a charity Project areas include dairy beef swine sheep rabbits art crafts foods and mechanical sciences Four Corners meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 00pm in the Hancock Community Center They have approximately 19 members in their club Some of the community service projects include volunteer June Dairy Breakfast Make a Difference Day the Ice Cream Social the Pancake socials and Local parades this is not an inclusive list Project areas include a variety of subject areas that are exhibited at the Waushara County Fair each year Loyal meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the afternoon dependent upon members schedules in the Aurora Town Hall They currently have 16 members ranging from kindergarten through 12 th grade Leaders are willing to provide transportation for members to monthly meetings special events or camps An interesting fact about the club is that even with few members they do many projects and have a diverse project interest They have also had a gold standard for community service projects for many years Our animal project members take advantage of the state offered camps exhibit at the WI State Fair while our younger members have attended and enjoy 4 H camp in the Wisconsin Dells Some of the community service projects include Roadside clean up twice a year National 4 H week display Christmas decorating at Nursing Home Donating to the food pantry BINGO at the nursing home June Dairy Promotion and Breakfast Valentine decorating and cookie making Tie blankets and pillow cases for Project Linus Poy Sippi Egg Hide Blue Ribbon Kids Day games plant and maintain flower beds and exhibit at the fair Some of the main project areas include dairy beef poultry swine rabbits foods flowers vegetables cultural arts clothing and photography Mt Morris Pioneers meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 6 30pm in the Mt Morris Community Center at 6 30pm They currently have 52 members ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade Community Service Opportunities Variety of project areas Oasis Prairie Ramblers meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6 30pm at the Oasis Town Hall They currently have 41 members ranging from Kindergarten through 13 th grade Some of the community service projects include Highway clean up leaf raking crafts for the nursing home ringing the bell for the Salvation Army senior citizen luncheon Christmas gifts for the less fortunate
