    Staff Alumni Friends Parents Family Community Search UWRF Physics Physics Academics Alumni Reunion 2015 Astrophysics Internships Astrophysics Research 2013 Summer Researcher 2014 Summer Researchers News and Events Observatory Sun Dial Physics Alumni Profiles Physics Banquet 2015 Planetarium Science Olympiad Welcome Registration Events Regulations Logistics Spectator Info 2016 Attending Teams Awards Staff and Alumni Student Resources Summer Session Planetarium The newly remodeled Digital Dome Planetarium is available for group shows and may be scheduled during the day or evening The cost per show for groups is 25 payable to the Physics Department Maximum seating capacity is approximately 40 people Presentations are tailored to suit your requests and the age of the group members You may request a particular astronomical subject or choose from the following currently available theme shows General Sky Survey This presentation includes a general overview of earth¹s motions and how that influences what we see in the day and night sky This also includes pointing out major constellations seen from northern Wisconsin including the zodiac and circumpolar constellations The program also includes a tour of the solar system and flying out to the edge of the universe More shows are being planned and will be added to this

    of the Year 2015 Ian Williams 2014 David Bonko 2013 Kathleen Hunzer 2012 Mark Bergland 2011 Keith Chavey 2010 Michael Martin 2009 Travis Tubré 2007 Herb Cederberg 2006 Kelly Cain 2005 Nate Splett 2004 Brad Caskey 2003 Terry Ferriss 2002 Stan Schraufnagel 2001 Clifford Mottaz 2000 Stephen Olsen Adviser of the Year The award for Adviser of the Year was established in 2000 to recognize an outstanding faculty adviser with nominations by graduating seniors and alumni Those nominations are then considered by the Faculty Senate Advising Committee which makes the final selection A motion from the Advising Committee to accept the clarification and update selection of award for UWRF Adviser of the Year Motion 98 99 39 as proposed by the Advising committee Purpose and Eligibility The purpose of the award for UWRF Adviser of the Year is to recognize excellence in the academic advising of undergraduate students Eligible for the award are full time tenure track faculty and professional staff with a minimum of four years of academic advising at UWRF An adviser may receive the award only once Nomination Procedure Eligible nominators include all current students and alumni of UWRF An on line nomination form will be made available through the university web site and advertised electronically to current students and alumni Seniors three and five year alumni will receive solicitations via postcard along with their Distinguished Teacher Award nominating materials Selection Procedure The Advising Committee will collect the nominations The committee s selection will not solely be based on the number of nominations received but will also take into account students and alumni comments in order to address disparity in advising loads in different departments Recommendation to the Chancellor The committee s annual recommendation to the chancellor will consist of a single academic Adviser s name Award
