    credits Oral or written comprehensive exam Admissions Requirements An earned baccalaureate degree in a STEM related major from an accredited institution An overall undergraduate grade point average GPA of at least 2 75 on a four point scale Qualifying score on a basic skills exam approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction DPI for example ACT SAT GRE or Praxis Core Completed online application received with 56 payment for processing Official transcripts from any previously attended higher education institutions sent directly from the institution to the Admissions Office and Application worksheets for licenses sought and Qualifying scores on content area exams required for licenses sought All documents should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office via email or mail to 112 South Hall 410 S Third Street River Falls WI 54022 A complete application fee and materials received and postmarked on or before May 15 will be considered for the following summer term Interested individuals are encouraged to meet with an adviser to find out if additional coursework is needed A minimum number of students may be required for each cohort The application is complete without the content exam score but admitted students must document a passing score in their primary license area by September 1 in order to continue in the program The STEM teach program is intensive and therefore students are encouraged to complete the necessary content exams before beginning the program Scores from Praxis II and NES content exams are accepted Admissions Checklist Follow this checklist to ensure that your application process is accurate and complete Schedule a conference with the program coordinator to review your qualifications for admission and teaching licensure and to have any questions answered Bring unofficial transcripts course catalogs resumes and any other documents that could be helpful Apply online with the electronic UW System application form and pay the application processing fee You may apply anytime but all candidates will begin with the summer term If necessary schedule and complete a basic skills exam approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction DPI for example ACT SAT GRE or Praxis Core Information on exams and fees is available on the UWRF Career Services web site Send your scores to our Admissions Office by selecting UW River Falls as the recipient Schedule and complete the content exam required for your state license If you are unsure which exam to take speak with the program coordinator Select UW River Falls as the recipient of your scores Complete the worksheet required for your teaching license Download forms here or contact the program coordinator for assistance Request transcripts from your past colleges or universities These official documents must be sent directly from the institution to UWRF Graduate Admissions 112 South Hall 410 S Third Street River Falls WI 54022 Find out your eligibility for financial aid and scholarships by visiting the Financial Aid web page or contacting the Financial Aid office 715 425 3141 or finaid uwrf edu An Admissions Team will review your application

    where she was an R winner in the Women s Recreation Association She received a B S degree from La Crosse State Teachers College She taught in elementary and high schools in Cornell Durand and at Spooner Wis She earned M A and Ph D degrees at the University of Minnesota and taught at Florida Southern University and Mankato State University before joining the faculty at River Falls in 1959 When the first Wisconsin Women s Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was created in 1978 Dr Nelson took a leave of absence from her River Falls responsibilities to serve as its executive secretary and led the colleges and universities into the field of women s competitive sports She was head of the physical education department from 1970 73 and was assistant to the vice chancellor for academic affairs after 1973 During her years on the faculty she coached women s basketball track and softball and was adviser to the Women s Recreation Association and Delta Psi Kappa The Strength and Conditioning Center Aerobics Studio and a classroom are housed in the Emogene Nelson Center Strength Conditioning Center Since 1998 the UW RF Strength Center has been helping all students meet their fitness and strength goals with our Hands On policy which states We offer a clean comfortable establishment which is constantly updated Our helpful staff does not work on commission if you need help we are there to help you Joining a gym is an investment We want you to get the most out of your investment Our reputation depends on it Strength Training Equipment 12 Samson Squat Racks 17 Fixed and Adjustable Benches Hammer Strength and Pinnacle Lines of Equipment Dumbbells from 5 to 110 pounds 20 000 pounds of free weights Cardio Equipment 6 Life Fitness Ellipticals 3 Life Fitness
