    equations For more information on Physics please contact Dr James Madsen Chair 125 Centennial Science Hall 715 425 3235 www uwrf edu PHYS Classroom Innovation In the classroom physics students collaborate with faculty Professors will present students with new and innovative ways to enhance learning In the electronics class for example students submit videos rather than paper assignments This helps students effectively communicate their work There are also both on and off campus research opportunities for students at all levels Every student must complete a research project in the senior year By graduation students will have gained extensive problem solving analysis technical and communication skills River Falls prepares students for graduate programs in physics and engineering electrical mechanical or civil as well as material science and atmospheric sciences The university offers electronics and engineering courses that are rarely found at schools without engineering programs The Dual Degree option at River Falls is also a popular option for students considering engineering fields Through Dual Degree students attend River Falls for three years and take advantage of small class sizes and research opportunities They then transfer to either the University of Wisconsin Madison or the University of Minnesota to take engineering coursework for two years Once completed students receive two bachelor s degrees a physics or chemistry degree from UW River Falls and an engineering degree from the partner school International Travel Students have fantastic study abroad opportunities through River Falls Ecuador Sweden Tunisia Nicaragua the Dominican Republic and China are just some of the locations where physics students have studied and conducted research One program in particular has taken students all the way to Antarctica to work on the international IceCube Collaboration In the past decade approximately 50 River Falls students have worked on the project helping to develop a new

    Search Catalog Glossary of Terms Stage And Screen Arts Printable PDF Our Program Global Innovative Excellent Our Program The theatre major is designed to expose students to all aspects of theatre Core courses are required in acting directing history and technology Advanced courses are offered in areas of special interest such as Advanced Acting Arts Management Playwriting Playwrights of Color Costume and Fashion or Children s Theatre and Puppetry Many opportunities exist for students to apply classroom skills in studio and lab productions Advanced students may have opportunities to design or direct on the main stage for academic credit or pursue internships with one of over 100 vital theatre companies in the Minneapolis St Paul metropolitan area Students may choose one of the following emphases Theatre Arts and Production Program University Theatre produces three shows a year The plays vary in style period and genre Students perform build and run the productions and are encouraged to take on major production responsibilities Theatre professionals are frequently brought to campus to work with students Many productions are entered in the American College Theatre Festival for adjudication and students are selected to participate in the acting and design competitions at the regional and national level Digital Film and Television The digital film television emphasis provides students with the necessary background for careers in film and television broadcasting as well as for those who anticipate using these skills in other occupations For more information on Theatre please contact Robin Murray Chair B24 Kleinpell Fine Arts 715 425 3971 www uwrf edu CSTA Internships Through clubs and organizations on campus theater arts students can connect outside of the classroom Clubs including Alpha Psi Omega an American recognition honor society recognizing participants in collegiate theatre and Masquers meet to plan and attend events related to theater

    clinical procedures The Veterinary Technology Emphasis is for students who are interested in working with animals in the veterinary healthcare field but do not necessarily want to become a veterinarian Students who complete the program earn a Bachelor of Science BS degree from UWRF as well as a two year Associate degree in Applied Science AAS from MATC or technical college Upon completion of this degree students are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam VTNE and become a Certified Veterinary Technician CVT Our faculty focus on teaching with specializations in physiology nutrition genetics reproductive management animal welfare animal health behavior and training CAFES ensures that you receive hands on experience at our teaching laboratory farms which house dairy beef sheep and swine herds and an equine operation With our long standing ties to industry you could get involved in applied research or have an international experience Here you will find opportunities for networking and education at the local regional and national levels of the Pre Veterinary Medicine Club and Veterinary Medical Association This is a 5 year program Students spend about 3 years at UWRF taking coursework for the Animal Science degree and then go on to take another 2 years of veterinary technology classes at Madison Area Technical College MATC or another college with an accredited veterinary technician program Global Innovative Excellent CAFES maintains two laboratory teaching farms Both the Mann Valley Farm and the Campus Farm are heavily utilized for course work by the Animal Science faculty and offer heated indoor space on site where classes workshops and contests are conducted The farms include dairy beef swine sheep poultry and equine enterprises Valuable practical experience in animal production may be gained by obtaining a job at one of the laboratory farms Students work with dairy equine
