    are not necessarily limited to such things as leadership community service creativity and or unique talents and personal characteristics that contribute to the strength and diversity of the University New freshmen admitted to the university typically rank in the t op 40 of their high school class OR have an ACT score of at least 22 Academic Course Preparation Academic preparation and specifically the strength of high school course work is an important part of the admission decision Listed below are the minimum course requirements for application Students who are most competitive for admission typically exceed these unit requirements English Communications composition literature and rhetoric 4 units Mathematics algebra geometry and higher 3 units Science two must be from biology chemistry or physics 3 units Social Studies 3 units Additional Academic Electives from the above areas or other academic or vocational areas 4 units A unit equals one academic year of a subject Programmatic Limits Higher academic expectations or earlier application priority dates may be imposed on specific majors if necessary to keep enrollments in line with program capacities UWRF Pathways Program Students who are non native speakers of English and who have a lower ACT score due to English proficiency will be evaluated for admission into the Pathways Program Students in the Pathways Program typically will have an ACT score lower than 17 And two of the following indicators C s or under in English Literature or Reading courses in high school ESL ELL courses in high school The language spoken at home is not predominantly English The student moved to the U S at some point during their elementary middle or high school years Students should indicate in their applicant statement that they are interested in the Pathways Program Appeal Process Every application denied has already been through

    Links A Z Search Directory News Event Calendar D2L eSIS Email Library Resources For Students Faculty Staff Alumni Friends Parents Family Community Search UWRF Admissions Undergraduate Admission Undergraduate Admission Admissions Standards Applying for Admission You ve Been Admitted What s Next Multicultural Resources Admissions Staff Applying for Admission Spring 2016 Note In ordered to be considered for Spring 2016 admission the last day to submit the application for admission is Sunday January 24 and all application materials must be received by the Admissions Office no later than noon on Monday January 25 To apply for admission you will need to send the following 1 Application You must complete the UW System application for undergraduate admission We encourage you to apply online when possible 2 Transcripts Ask your guidance counselor to mail an official copy of your high school transcript and your most recent grade report When requesting your official transcripts please have them sent directly to UWRF Admissions 112 South Hall 410 S 3rd St River Falls WI 54022 3 ACT Scores Your ACT scores should also be sent to the Admissions Office If you did not request that your scores be sent directly from ACT we will accept student copies counselor copies or scores stamped on your high school transcript NOTE River Falls does NOT require the writing portion of the ACT 4 Application fee A non refundable fee of 44 is required if you are applying as a degree seeking student to a UW System institution The fee can be paid by credit card at the time you submit your application or you can mail a check Music Program Note Students who are admitted to the university as Music majors must also complete an audition through the Music Department For more details please visit the Music Department s

    UW River Falls for your semester UW River Falls Admitted Students Fall 2016 UW River Falls Admitted Students Spring 2017 Apply for Scholarships Students are able to apply for scholarships after activating their Falcon Account Complete the general application at https uwrf academicworks com users sign in This website will match students with the UWRF scholarships they are eligible for Apply for Housing Pay your Residence Hall Contract Payment All freshmen and sophomore students who do not meet exemption requirements are required to live in university residence halls It is important for all accepted students to go to the Residence Hall Portal early The earlier you pay your housing deposit and complete the contract the more likely Residence Life will be able to honor your preferences However there are no guarantees You will need your Falcon Account to access the portal Contact Residence Life if you have questions Get Involved through FalconSync Log in with your Falcon Account to FalconSync and connect with UWRF student organizations There are more then 150 clubs and organizations that you can join Apply for Financial Aid After January 1 fill out and submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid FAFSA This form is available online at your high school or from the Financial Aid Office at River Falls Many high schools have informational sessions on how to apply for Financial Aid We encourage you to attend FAFSA School Code 003923 Visit Campus If you have not already visited campus schedule your visit now You can arrange a weekly tour and information session or attend one of our Visit Days which are special programs that give you a closer look at the university Check our Visiting Campus page for more information Apply for Tuition Reciprocity MN Residents If you are a Minnesota resident be sure to fill out the Reciprocity Form This simple form will allow you to pay a tuition rate comparable to what is charged at a similar Minnesota school and is available from high school counselors or from the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office Take Placement Tests UW System placement tests are required for all new students who have not completed college level courses in English or Math Refer to our Placement Test Information webpage to determine if you need to take the placement test If you ve taken French German or Spanish in high school it is recommended that you take the foreign language placement test for your language especially if your are considering continuing in that language Students can earn up to 14 credits and corresponding grades of A for taking the placement test and passing the class you are placed in with a grade of B or better Students attending UW River Falls who are not able to take their placement tests during the Regional Placement Testing Program can take them in early June prior to their registration date Available dates and times for these tests will be announced soon If you are unable to attend a regional
